So, just to be perfectly clear... for the benefit of BR... The global financial system is fucked, all manufacturing is fucked, the world is broke, fiat currency is worthless and the only way we know how to get out of this mess is to fight our way out of it!

With all your military knowledge, BR, I'm! surprised you cant see this coming!
The world will weather it, Nom. The PRC is not in such a position that it can walk in and take over. :roll :roll
Considering how heavily armed my population is, I can feel safe from a ground war for now. You might need to prepare a bit.

It apparently took a global pandemic and corresponding economic shutdown of entire nations' economies for the American public to realize that surprisingly, the US military relies heavily for supplies involved in weapons systems manufacturing just south of the border.
The Pentagon's defense undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment, Ellen Lord, urged at the start of this week that Mexico reopen those factories which many US defense firms rely on, especially aircraft manufacturers, previously shuttered due to COVID-19.

But you'd still have to worry about Alaska, which is no small target, along with the scattered other oil-producing states such as California, North Dakota, New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma.

Remember, too, that China is an importer of agricultural products such as soybeans.

And let's not overlook the fact that as the nation that gave the world the coronavirus, China is also experiencing a massive number of deaths and illnesses. Many more, I'll wager, than the Chinese communist leaders admit to.

And as oil falls below $0, China is madly buying up reserves from Alaska, Canada and Brazil for stockpiling. China doesn’t report inventories, so the rate at which it fills stockpiles is almost always a game of guesstimates. Surprise surprise.

That's interesting, considering China is the world's 4th largest producer of oil.

Then again, what's cheaper -- getting it out of the ground yourself or letting someone else do it and then buying it from them afterward?

HOW WILL WE WEATHER IT BR?

Don't just claim it... give reason to support your claim!

Depends on the circumstances. China could co-opt the free market and acquire as much oil as able... at least until The West wised up! Then, build or increase oil infrastructure.

Thing is, everyone has oil. (Europe?) Everyone has the ability to convert their economies to a war footing. How quickly we can do that? China and Russia could do that quite quickly, as could the US. Europe would feign shock and moral equivocation, delaying their actions. Australia and NZ are completely unprepared. Not sure about Canada and the UK.
