I would far rather be on aussies list than on a list that includes freediver and IQ. I am amazed Lefty is on that list. I think MM is probably only on it because aussie wants the amendment, but if she voted with the well-being of this forum at heart i think her vote woudl change. I implore Lefty, Yourself and Socky to change your votes. The kiwi-dave situation should not be able to happen again. At the time you agreed with that Monk. Petitions should not be able to hang around forever if they cannot muster the required votes in a reasonable time - why? For the simple reason that things and people's opinions change. It is possibel we shoudl not even be able to petition the admin position- just tolewrate it for a fixed twelvemonth term after which teh admin has to stand for reelection if he wants it.Jovial Monk wrote:Sensible people against this dangerous (and invalid) amendment:

Normal members (big stretch to include dweeby little IQ in that I know ) most posting fairly frequently and regularly.
That “( banned Member)” against IQ is only half right, IQ is suspended not banned, unless Aussie bans him while he is suspended: Aussie has history of doing this.
Lisa, Annie, ele you really want to be in that bodgy list of Yes voters????

NO!
We need a way to boot a non-performing Admin. The kiwi_dave experience shows that.
Aussie moved his amendment on a lie: that it was needed to delete IQ’s bit of bullshit. It wasn’t and isn’t actually for deleting that crap. It is to araldite Aussie’s bum to the Admin seat, pure and simple.
I am not prepared to wait for something grand and all encompassing “later.”
Aussie should have put his amendment up for discussion and moving of amendments to it.
But the whole supposed reason for the amendment IS*A*LIE*

How many things on your wish list do you think aussie has done Monk?
Re: VOTE NO ON AUSSIE'S REFERENDUM
None, I think.
They are there to stimulate debate, get people thinking yadda yadda.

No, it is not, Monk. The sole reason I introduced the proposal for that Amendment when I did was to assist me deal with your complaint (with which I agreed) concerning the Annie Petition. (I cannot just delete what you and I might consider unworthy/vexatious because of just of 'our' personal opinion. I need Constitutional backing.)Jovial Monk wrote:NO!

However, I do agree that the discussion which has ensued has been beneficial to us all when we consider what I propose as the on-going provision.
Re: VOTE NO ON AUSSIE'S REFERENDUM
No it isn’t. If that was the sole reason you could have accepted my amendment.
I think it is partly a way that you can flip the bird to FD. I don’t give a stuff about that sort of crap.
Until we do have a a proper constitution that contains provisions for ousting a non-performing Admin I will oppose any moves like your present sneaky dangerous amendment that is basically one big lie.
I will oppose any constitution you propose because it will be a lie like this amendment.

Yeah, that last sentence sums up your silly paranoia. I don't want to see you marginalised, Monk, but you really are doing an unnecessarily self-destructive job on yourself. You have urged Members to think. I reckon you ought do the same, and forget about non-existent conspiracy theories. There are no 'reds under the bed.'
As the vote currently stands, the nays have it by a tad.

RM, if you change your mind, withdraw your signature. it's as simple as that. On the other hand, if you are waiting for a suitable candidate to step up, you do have a valid reason to wait until signing.Petitions should not be able to hang around forever if they cannot muster the required votes in a reasonable time - why? For the simple reason that things and people's opinions change.
Aussie claims this is about one silly petition he wants to get rid of. What it is really about is that he blames the longevity of the previous petition on his most recent downfall. That is, he made the referendum for his own benefit, not for the good of the forum. He wants to make it harder for the democracy here to function.
I'm sure Aussie would love that one.It is possibel we shoudl not even be able to petition the admin position- just tolewrate it for a fixed twelvemonth term after which teh admin has to stand for reelection if he wants it.
You think two months is 'dealing with it'? Would it even stay on the front page that long without you drawing so much attention to it?The sole reason I introduced the proposal for that Amendment when I did was to assist me deal with your complaint (with which I agreed) concerning the Annie Petition.
Re: VOTE NO ON AUSSIE'S REFERENDUM
The thing is, Aussie has implemented all the things in my wishlist. He keeps going like that he will be re-elected next March no problems so even Aussie doesn’t really need that shameful lie of an amendment. Weird!
I suspect Aussie really want to thumb his nose at you, FD. I really think that is what motivated him. Silly tho that be.
