When the Riverina flooded in 2011 (previous flood was 42 years earlier), everyone just got around on tinnies.
Because of all the irrigation canals, the flood waters were always moving, not sitting like a stagnant dirty duck pond.
I got a little bit famous in Leeton, because I got around wearing my Scuba gear as a novelty along the mainstreet. People called me Scuba-Steve.
After decades of drought where farmers were lucky to produce one bag per year, as they say, they produced 12 bags from harvests after the flooding dissipated.
No mozzies, crocs or mud sharks.
