The weather bomb has the potential to generate a combination of heavy rain, gale-force winds and damaging surf.

I'm away and out of touch. Were you spared? It didn't look good.
Hi, BO, we had strong wind but not much rain, it went south.
Where are you now?

In this continent where the heat of summer is the extreme (unlike, say - Siberia). I find our cold, but not freezing winters a respite like a sunny day in Yakut.

More than 100 people are confirmed dead and at least 161 are missing as search and rescue operations in central Texas entered a fifth day Tuesday after heavy rainfall overwhelmed the Guadalupe River, sending floodwaters roaring through homes and area summer camps.

The death toll rose to 109, including at least 27 children and counselors from the beloved Camp Mystic, a storied Christian girls camp in Kerr County, where flooding hit the hardest beginning July 4. At least 30 children were among those killed in the county, Sheriff Larry Leitha said in an update Tuesday morning.

He's right you know.
We can see the Union Jack slowly moving back towards North America with the fall of (political/military) Germany, soon France and finally Greco/Rome Italy & Greece.
While this happens, the Union Jack will take the same steps moving away from Australia.
Of course Moslems will take much power and influence here with the fading of Britain's influence her.
But ultimately Australia will be the new Eastern Europe, as Western Europe (Britain) reclaims America and Southern Latin Europe takes its permanent holiday in Oceania.
Northern Europe will finally be left to clean up the mess in Europe as a whole.
Such is colonisation and the breakup of Europe's four winds.

Heavy rain again and the creek is overfilling, which is unusual for August.
Normally there are dry westerlies in August, paddocks are brown and animals fed by hay but right now pastures are emerald green and water clogged.

Peach trees at last started to bloom more then month later then usual and little honeyeaters appear first time since big fires few years back.

Melbourne.

Finally we get some rain today - but there will be floods:

https://www.bom.gov.au/warning/severe-w ... g/IDV21037

Severe Weather Warning for HEAVY RAINFALL

Northern Country, North Central and parts of Central,
North East, West and South Gippsland and Mallee Forecast Districts.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast for central areas of the state today. The risk of heavy rainfall is possible around the western suburbs of Melbourne from the late morning, before becoming more likely as it extends over the eastern suburbs and the remainder of the warning area during the afternoon and evening. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 40 to 70 mm are possible. Conditions are expected to ease during Wednesday morning.

Locations which may be affected include Bendigo, Shepparton, Seymour, Melbourne, Traralgon, Bacchus Marsh, Frankston, Warragul, Euroa, Yarra Glen, and Mansfield.

Safety advice

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

* If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible.

* Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees.

* Be aware - heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when it's windy or wet.

* Check that loose items, such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.

* Stay indoors and away from windows.

* If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways.

* Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live.

* Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Heavy rainfall may also increase the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
