As usual, there's always one muppet on the news reports that says 'all the trees' should be cut down and removed because of falling branches etc.
Imagine. Removing a city's prime 'natural' character of trees in streets n' all - just because some people have branches fall on their cars or claim that 'everyone' will be hit on the head by a falling branch... because they 'all' will be outside in the rain and high winds to cop a binklebonk on the head.
Some people just can't cope with a 'natural' world.
Maybe they want Sydney built out of MineCraft and other Cyber constructions? Real world stuff eh.

the Storm -
back on 13th Feb 2024 over half a million people lost power
in Melbourne from trees falling on power lines.
Mine was out for 5 hours but some lost power for 3 days and more.
They grow tall forest type trees under power lines.
Maybe some 'Shrubberies' even.
Just ask the Knights who say "Ni!"
Obviously Eucalypts always drop their own branches - its a natural trait of theirs. But there are other (from other parts of the world) Tree species that are less prone of having shallow root systems and loosing branches easily.
Councils need to ask the 'experts' and have the right Trees (including maintenance demands, etc) in Streets as I think Trees are the most wonderful sight in streets and really do make streets look less like people being in a cement 'prison' of just brick and mortar, etc. Annandale became a very pricey suburb purely because of its visual splendour of Trees in its Streets.
