In cases like this I think the parents need to be held accountable, at least partly.
They're obviously useless and probably have half a dozen more just like him.
My bet is that most of them are from solo mothers -
and they can't be controlled as they'd bash their own mothers.
That's the whole problem today. The only ones who are breeding are those who are welfare dependent. No one else (except the wealthy of course) can afford to have kids if they are working as it costs way too much for childcare. And young people today are making the decision not to have kids. So it doesn't augur well for the future if a large percentage of kids are being born into welfare dependent single parent families where extra kids are just a means to an end - a much larger welfare cheque.
Yes - a mother at my last workplace was paying $100 per day for childcare for each kid she had - she had 2 kids -
so that meant $1,000 per week for childcare!
She was basically working for almost nothing just to stay in the workforce
and keep her skills going strong.
She was worried that if she left her job she'd never be rehired.

Australia has become too expensive to have children.
Gotta import 700,000 Indians and Yellow Asians for population growth.
All the White People are turning into Homosexuals (non-breeders) and Trans-mutants who think little white fluffy dogs are children.

You're right about the Indians!!! My god, they're taking over whole suburbs in the west! I am really sorry for young kids these days. They don't have much of a future to look forward to. I just don't recognise my country any more. We'll soon be in the minority and it'll be a whole new ball game.

I'm not against immigration. It's needed for many reasons from cultural advancement and gene pool reasons - but bringing in half a million a year is too much too fast and causes 'stress' of adaptability, intergration and assimilation especially when you get groups thrown in en-mass into areas that are tight and crowded. Nothing but chaos and crime evolve.

At just 12 years old he's incredibly young. But police claim a boy from western Sydney is a serial and violent criminal. The boy has been arrested and released 70 times but finally he was refused bail.

Good - they finally got him off the streets.

I posted about his crimes somewhere - I can't find it now.

Completely agree.
Ok, it's clear this child is disturbed, has likely got some sort of disorder, however this doesn't justify placing society or the child themselves at unnecessary further risk.

70 convictions?

How about a Three Strikes your out method?

We need to re- open girls and boys homes for troubled kids. Do-gooders will argue they're inhumane and result in them becoming even more troubled, though youth crimes out of control in key- states and areas, and drastic times call for drastic measures.

Regardless of heritage.

Let them learn constructive life- skills, and perhaps a trade while incarcerated, which is much better than they would ever have achieved living on the streets, drifting between
courts and lurking with other delinquents.

We set the standard, trouble is we are too politically correct to remedy the problem preferring the bandaid effect.

It's too late for bandaids, and these kids know they can do whatever they like, AND STILL not face meaningful consequences.

It's a joke!

When my older son first joined the police force he used to ferry these brats around from juvenile detention to Cobham Children's Court. He said virtually all of them were all bravado - however none of them were afraid of the system. They all thought the courts were a joke and everyone from judges to youth workers always believed all the crap they came up with. The only ones who didn't were the cops. Sure, a lot of kids have had bad childhoods - and in these cases, the parents should be in the dock with the kids. The kids themselves would laugh about detention because they said that's where you learn all the good stuff. And they actually look up to the kid murderers.

I think they should forget about the juvenile detention system and just go with a good hiding, lol. That'll stop them because it's the only thing they're afraid of.
For a social experiment, I wonder what would happen if these parents were cut-off from their parenting payments or fined whenever these kids were left to their own devices?
I mean where are the parents of these young kids, some as young as 8 when their babies are out of their beds in the middle of the night?

No parenting, then no parenting/ or child related DHS payments!

Early intervention is vital, there's a girl at my daughter’s school, only 9 years old, stands 160cm, hurts other children regularly, locked supoort teacher in storeroom adjoining the classroom yesterday, and because she's Indigenous and her guardian is her grandfather ( parents are/were in prison) she gets away with murder.
She's untouchable, and knows it!

And our government wonders why we have a front-line worker shortage?

Teachers, police, nurses, ambulance officers, social workers...all those expected to cop this abuse on account of these kids having a troubled upbringing or being a minority race.

Enough is enough!

Thankfully it's just this one student at my daughter’s school, otherwise her schools amazing.

I can't imagine working in an especially disadvantaged school wherby 9 and 10 year olds were smoking in full view of staff during recess.

Did you know there are actually schools which allows their secondary students to smoke, wear whatever they like, in exchange for attendance?

Three I know of, St Joseph's in Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne. Not a private school, they get free laptops, no school fees, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided Free. They can leave the grounds whenever they like, abuse substances and return to class, and so long as they're not harming others, it's all good.

Seeing is believing, a relative ( former teacher herself) of mine travels Australia performing school incursions, and there are some schools she leaves feeling absolutely shattered, knowing that some of these kiddos don't stand a chance.
Even before they've hit adolescence, they're headed for our prison system.

Time to make these kids and their no-hoper parents accountable.

If these kids are demonstrating delinquency in primary school, then perhaps "boarding schools " would be a better option.

Corrective boarding schools, like military schools.
Will be just like school camp, only with 4.5 meter fences with razor wire, brutal force military discipline, and work- factory's to exhaust them into submission and learn a trade.

Privileges as rewards only, not a given or expectation.

The "nice" way hasn't worked!
The " sympathetic " approach has failed also.

It's the only solution or those who thought they were safe within the sanctuary of their gated communities will be too scared to even sleep at night, much less go for a morning jog 10 years from now. It's already out of control.

These kids are targeting 'nicer suburbs, and they don't care about cameras whatsoever.

They don't even care about getting caught.

You've got it in a nutshell regarding 'Political (really 'Media' narrative) Correctness'.
When the 'human rights' of Criminals are put before the human rights of the community and the public.
You know things are heading in the 'wrong' direction.

Yes, I agree about parenting payments. If they aren't parenting the kids then they shouldn't expect to be paid. It's not as if they're spending the money on the kids schooling and essentials. In many cases these welfare dependent parents are using the money to buy drugs and alcohol. The kids are just a means to an end.

And then you have hard working parents who are struggling. I am really sorry for parents of very young babies and toddlers who have to put them in childcare because they have to work to pay the bills. They really struggle when there are outbreaks of disease. They have to somehow take time off work to look after their kids. It's a terrible burden for these parents because in many cases they are not being paid when they're off work - and some may be at risk of losing their jobs.

Yet drug addled non-working parents get all the financial help. :S

Sadly the 'system' is unable to discriminate.
I know the majority of people who work for the system would like to tell a hell of a lot of those 'spongers' a big "NO" and cut them off.
But they have to take the Bludgers along with the Battlers.
So many ride the system with arrogance, audacity and a case of 'entitlement' that deserves to be abused.
