I warmed up some of last night's leftover minestrone in the microwave tonight.

I have 36 eggs sitting in my fridge awaiting to be consumed (after being boiled for 15 minutes), after I get through my rump steak dinners.
15 minutes is way too long to boil an egg. The whites become rubbery and the yolks go a greenish/grey colour around the edges.

The water is not completely boiling when I put the eggs in the pot. I realise the way the eggs get after boiling too long. Like you pointed out, the whites become rubbery and the yolk does go grey around the edges. Still tastes nice.

My body will go into starvation mode. Then my metabolism will slow down after the initial success of getting rid of water weight.
Better to just do the low-carbs diet.
nahh - were there any overweight people at Auschwitz?
Whooooaaah! Don't write that!

But it's right though isn't it?

Those poor people only got a bowl of turnip soup every day.
They sure lost a lot of weight.

And the yolks would be dried out by then as well. They would still be edible though.......

Better than 15 if you like them hard boiled. Personally I prefer 6 or 7 minutes.

Bobby, there were hardly any overweight people in the 1930s and 1940s. My grandmother told me about how her childhood was about cutting back on food consumption, in the 1930s and 1940s. If she saw an overweight person in her area, they would have been rich.

Just because you say that Auschwitz detainees were thin because they were on a starvation diet, it is not appropriate to compare their devastating experience with someone like me who rejects the idea of going on a low calorie diet.

I had a reasonably large dinner tonight. Then I went for a walk in the cold night air. I sat at a bus stop for about 30 minutes, playing games on my mobile and facebooking. Then I got back up and put the backpack on. After about 150 metres, I realised that I was starting to feel hungry. It became obvious that my dieting has been working quite alright. Having got out of my workout clothes, I noticed that I had strengthened my muscies quite a bit in that hour. There is no need to go on a low calorie diet unless you want to lose weight fast. I would rather build muscle and let the fat slowly fade away. Even if I initially gain weight from muscle gain, the fat cell depletion would bring my weight down.

Tonight, I boiled the eggs for 10 minutes. They have come out well. I will stick to 10 minutes from now on.
