whether you can count or not, ten is always ten, two is always two ... you cannot 'invent' a number, you can only invent the word you use to refer to that number. Learning to count is the 'discovery

To my mind, mathematics is the exploration and investigation of all possible patterns. As such, it is a discovery process that uses rationalism as its primary tool.

To my mind, mathematics is the exploration and investigation of all possible patterns. As such, it is a discovery process that uses rationalism as its primary tool.
I should also add that rationalism invents the symbols and language necessary to understanding mathematics.

It is both!
I disagree ... it is irrelevant whether you understand mathematics. Sure, it may make you feel good, but it doesn't change whats out there. It exists with or without your knowledge.

You have failed to tell us what 'IT,' is... only that 'IT' exist with or without our knowledge of same.
And, how do you know that 'IT' exists? What evidence do you have of 'ITS' existence and from where did that evidence come?
