Eric is old, ex-junkie, druggy and recovered alcoholic. No surprise he had a reaction. He would have had a worse outcome if he contracted Covid directly I bet.

Anti-Vaxxers are just stupid.
With real vaccines I totally agree but the Covid jab is not a true vaccine. It only claims to reduce your symptoms. It does not stop you from getting the virus nor does it stop you from spreading the virus so it's a personal choice and one which people should be shown all sides to, pros and cons, before they make that choice.

They don't even know how long the jab will last. Would people be lining up to get Small Pox, Diptheria, Polio, Tetanus, Rubella, Measles, Mumps, Whooping Cough vaccines perhaps every few months under the same circumstances? I somehow doubt that. Those are true vaccines. This one is not.

The government would go a long way towards public acceptance, and more importantly confidence, of/in this jab if Australia had a VICS scheme in line with the rest of the civilised world.

So save the righteous indignation. If you get the jab and I don't and you get Covid and give it to me there is no definitive proof that your symptoms would be any less than mine.

It is a vaccine, some are more effective than others (e.g. i got the china vaccine and it is less effective than most). Some people get high antibody counts, so it is effective o them and some have a very low count so they will be not be immune.

This is not true. Not only does it either prevent or reduce your symptoms but most likely will prevent you from dying compared to not having it. That makes it worth it. Then it will be as impactful as a bad flu.

They admit that they made a mistake.

The AstraZeneca vaccine will now only be recommended for use in people aged 60 and over, after the federal government accepted new advice from the country's vaccine experts.
Key points:

The federal government has agreed with the advice from ATAGI
Two women have died from an extremely rare clotting disorder likely linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine
According to the latest health figures, 3.8 million AstraZeneca doses have been administered

The vaccine was recommended for use in people over 50.

Health Minister Greg Hunt said the federal government accepted the medical advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI).

People under 60 will now be offered the Pfizer vaccine.

"We will move to open access to Pfizer immediately for 40- to 59-year-olds. This will open to approximately 1.2 million people in that 50 to 59 group who have not yet had vaccinations," Mr Hunt said.

He said the country remained on track to provide a vaccine dose to every Australian who wanted one by the end of 2021.

Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly said the latest advice was still that anyone who received a first dose of AstraZeneca without any adverse effects should get their second dose

"Most likely" being the key words. No better than a guess. We don't know!

I know half a dozen people who have had the virus and for 3 days they felt like crap then they were fine. I'll take my chances for now and see what happens as the year progresses.

Hi BO,
How does anyone here feel between 50 and 59 years of age?

If you haven't yet taken the AZ vax then you must
be feeling very lucky?

How many jabs have been administered and how many got bloodclots and how many died from the clots? Or are you just panic mongering?

Those between 50 and 59 must feel like they dodged a bullet.
