Proposed Amendment to the PA Constitution

Post by Redneck » Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:58 am

I would like to suggest an Amendment to the PA Constitution

Petitions
Petitions may only be proposed by members who have been active PA members for the last twelve months and have full access for that period. This rule applies to all signatories of that petition.

Further more members who have had two or more bannings in that twelve month period may not vote in petitions

It's kind of a moot point if nobody is here. Something should be done to attract the right kind of posters. I have no idea what that something is, but that's what is needed.

Freediver I have been in discussion with Bobby and BO about the need to tighten up the conditions regarding Petitions in the PA Constitution, which prompted this topic.

can you please confirm how we would go about amending the constitution?

Does it require more than a request from the EL to you to amend it if you agree with amendment?

NO!

You sound like a Republican trying to fix the next election in so that noobs who were once members will have less influence.

Agreed. BO failed on that score. Now it's Bob's turn to fix it. Perhaps BO, Bob or should focus on that!

To some degree yes, but just ensuring that new members (regardless of who) cant try and overthrow the EL until they have been a well a behaved member for 12 months. With the secret number only being 4 in the last election due to low numbers of voters this is not beyond the realms of possibility

I've done my bit. I brought plenty of people here (none of them from OzPol) who wrote long and well thought out posts and thrived on non-abusive discussion. Just off the top of my head there's Bogan, The4thEstate, Nicole, BigP, Neverforget711, Phoenix, Texan, Billy and others. Most didn't like the ad homs and abuse they received from their opposition and left which is why I tried to keep that idiocy out of the main threads and made the Playground.

Perhaps it should be more up to the members to act like adults and "fix it" instead of just always bitching.

Who else has brought anyone here from anywhere other than OzPol? No-one in my time.

Thanks BO,
the problem is that it's possible that new members could:
(1) drive away existing or other new members with abusive posts.
(2) cause trouble by making petitions to remove other members or the EL or Mods.

I feel that a probationary period for new members is the immediate answer
as outlined in my election Manifesto.
Anyone will be allowed to join up to PA but
new members will be on a good behaviour bond for the first 3 months.
After that time most new members will be allowed access to Sparta.
The question is -
would that be enough?

No I dont think so as you cant stop them making petitions without amending the Constitution.

Three months isnt long enough 12 months good behaviour before being able to petition .

Sparta.... three months is probably OK as there is SFA of interest in there anyway.
