Its not the lefties thats taking your money!

I suppose you prefer the top 20% to have all the wealth as is the case, with Trump even giving them more tax cuts (as are the Australian Government proposing)!

You are kidding yourself rightards as you are getting poorer year on year in inequality terms,

even Warren Buffet recognises the inequality needs addressing!

Try reading "The price of Inequality" by Joseph E Stiglitz
"You are kidding yourself rightards as you are getting poorer year on year in inequality terms, ""

I would beg to differ Red, My net worth is only going one direction and thats up ,,
I doubt it is as much as the top 20% my friend!

But keep voting for the dickheads if that pleases you!
You sound bitter Red, I'd probably squeeze into the lower end of the top 20% in NZ
Well done in that case!

I am not bitter at all, I just believe taxation should be set to reduce the inequality in countries like Australia and USA rather than Trump an co give tax cuts to the rich such as yourself!
Red, I have worked hard for what I have, and pay a lot of tax, but enough is enough, welfare should be a hand up, not a handout , I have raised to kids with zero support from the government, there have historically been plenty of jobs in NZ, some people just dont want to work, why should my hard earned support them ?

I had a quick look on the net and found a household wealth calculator , It put our household in the top 16%, of that I am proud , But I can assure you that I don't feel wealthy , I don't struggle to put food on the table but I don't live the high life either

You should listen to some of his talks!

Guys like Buffet are great philanthropists ,

I appreciate that a lot of people fall through the cracks , but if you hit the top end to hard, the wealthy will pack up their sticks and move to a country with a more favorable tax regime and that will only exacerbate the problem , socialism/communism has proven to be a failure wherever it has been introduced , In my opinion the system we have is about a good as it gets, having said that there is always a little wriggle room to try and improve life for the impoverished , but they need to accept a bit of personal responsibility along the way, Dont have too many kids, drink in moderation and dont smoke or gamble ,,

What a crock of bullshit...
Finland
Finland has one of the world’s best education systems, with no tuition fees and also giving free meals to their students. The literacy rate in Finland is 100 percent. Finland has one of the highest standards of living in the world.

Denmark has a wide range of welfare benefits that they offer their citizens. As a result, they also have the highest taxes in the world. Equality is considered the most important value in Denmark. Small businesses thrive, with over 70 percent of companies having 50 employees or less.

Like the Netherlands, Canada also has mostly a free market economy, but has a very extensive welfare system that includes free health and medical care. Canadians remain more open-minded and liberal than Americans, and Canada is ranked as one of the best top five countries to live in by the United Nations and the Human Development Index (HDI) rankings.

Just to set the record straight on tax cuts for the rich and Buffets idea of redistribution of wealth.

First of all BigP I personally wouldnt benefit from this as I am a 75 year old retiree living off my Superannuation and pay bugger all tax as it is, so I resent your earlier slur at me.

The people I would like to see benefit especially are the youngsters who now cant afford to save to buy their first home and the average wage earners such as tradies, mechanics, office workers, shop assistants, carpenters etc in other words the average worker!

I think the idea that the rich will take their money elsewhere to another country is a lot of hogwash!

OMFG! You didn't bother to read the link, did you? Just like a righty... closed-minded and ignorant.

Well, the author put NZ within the top 10 socialist nations... so there!

Congratulations Comrade... NZ made the list!
