And it was only the other day NSW Labor was receiving bribes from China and Mr Been was negotiating with them.

How ScoMo handles this tariff war will be very interesting.
Agreed. He's played a cautious, pragmatic game so far. I hope he continues in that way.

He should team up with corporates that actually make things, to build a new, more self-sufficient and advanced Australia.
If Australia hadn't handed out so much welfare and free money over the years you would now be in a great position to be more advanced and self sufficient ,,

I seem to remember Keating spruiking about his policies a long time ago, which were blatantly designed to
buy the female vote.....
Since then its just got worse and worse...
Today they Pay $13K for someone to have a baby (Maternity Leave), then $7K as a Baby Bonus, and then
subsidise ChildCare payments up to 80% per week until the child goes to school....
Just so as Mum can re-enter the workforce and further her career....(oh and vote for the Party which
is so generous to give out the freebies...….)
and since then both major parties have carried on with the handouts......)
I cringe when I look back to the 70s and thereabouts....
But I want to further my career...well...no..you are just sick of changing shitty nappies luv.....
To discover those who rule over you, first discover those who you cannot criticize...Voltaire
Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

Heavens! The armchair arm waving Socialists are roused out of their slumber to rant and rave and try to find the solution in the bottomless pit of GetUp! Socialist Propaganda.

Those GetUp! Hillsong Revivalist Indoctrination Meetings really sway the minds of the vulnerable Socialists.

I don't like the ad man, Scomo, but I do like pragmatism and caution... especially during these early days. Scomo is showing these qualities.

Forgive my superficiality ... I haven't read any of the posts in this thread ... I'm just responding to the thread title.

Notice how China has placed these tarrifs on their publics' discretionary items? ... barley for bear, beef for restaurants.

But at the same time they've sped up the iron ore importation by preventing customs hold ups?

Nazi China's on a march for world domination, and they need our iron for steel to do it.
China claims they could get their iron ore from Brazil to shut us up, but Brazil's Prez Jair Bolsonaro is very anti Marxist/socialist/communist. Lefties depict him as fascist, he may well be, but the left paints anyone questioning their motives and rationales as fascist. My point is, it probably wouldn't be too hard to create an iron ore embargo on China.

As for the phrase "Nazi China" ... well China's Leninist/Marxist ("socialist") and nationalistic.
National socialists are called "Nazis".
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

It would surprise me if China didn't have substantial ore deposits of their own, But I guess they will drain the available world supply before they use their own,,

You're probably right on that.
A bit like the huge oil deposits under the Rocky Mountains that U$A is saving.
