I'm saying the choice is yours to make. If you want to vet refugees or demand that they not weigh down your economy, that's your right. If you want to give your country to the rest of the world, that's your right as well.
Under the UN Convention of Refugees, you aren't allowed to "vet" anybody before they make a claim for Asylum, Tex.
You can interview them and verify that they are political refugees before allowing them entry. You can isolate them from your public. We have thousands marching over our borders and only claim refugee status after they are caught. I wouldn't call them refugees as they didn't follow protocol.

I'm not a complete isolationist, but I do believe strongly in national sovereignty.
Nothing wrong with that, Tex. You do however take it IMO sometimes to extreme - like many Americans I've encountered over the years. Yes, before accepting their application for Asylum you can make sure they are genuine refugees. My present Government doesn't care whether they are genuine or not - it is all about their mode of arrival. If they come by plane, they are acceptable. If they come by boat, well there is hell to pay with Tories screaming about their genuineness. Some people have strange ideas about refugees, blaming them for all the ills in the world.

Your country creates refugees. Did you realise that? Your country has engendered the circumstances that force people to flee their own societies because of the way your country dominates others. So, you shouldn't be too surprised that you have many thousands marching across your southern border the way they do. It is just your government's policies coming home to roost. :roll
Its not my fault that people live under crap governments that deny their rights or sell their people out for profit. We deal with that enough here and aren't responsible for the rest of the world. Get your own governments in line and make them work for you. It's not easy but the benefits are great.
The problem is, Tex, it has been your government acting on your behalf which has been setting up the governments "South of the Border" for your benefit, rather than the benefit of the people who live there. In addition it has been creating the conditions that have caused the rise of gangs. People "South of the Border" are fed up with this and are leaving their own countries to come to yours. It might be a better idea to bring your government to heel before demanding other people do the same to theirs. :roll :roll

Of course, this is in reality a two way street. If the US Government and US corporations dealt fairly and responsibly with other countries, this problem could be nipped in the bud but of course they won't. Rather than acting responsibly, they act like pirates, taking what they want, when they want, without regard to the indigenous people's needs. Now, if governments "South of the Border" weren't propped up by your government, Tex, I don't doubt things would be a hell of a lot better. Of course, that means they might turn to the dark side - Communism. Of course you might then need a real wall, rather than an easily subverted fence on your southern border.

You're full of excrement. Mexicans are trapped between the cartels and the government. Both are corrupt and both are armed. The government sends the people North to leech off of our services and send money back, and the cartels take advantage of the traffic and use them as drug mules and prey on them for prostitution. Illegals sending cash back from America is their biggest industry. It's even bigger than their government owned oil industry. I've lost 3 friends to the crimes of illegal aliens and watched them take advantage of services that I pay out the nose for. I see them work off the books to take jobs that Americans can't compete with legally. My dad retired and shut down his construction business because of illegal immigration. He had to lay off his entire crew when he retired and none of the employees were willing to take control of the company. My parents managed to find jobs with the local school system for all of his employees when he left.(thanks to Mom, who ran the construction services department of the local school district) The best thing Americans can do is seal our Southern border and wait for Mexico to ask for our help. That's about all I'm willing to give them until they become committed to cleaning up their country.

You're just another victim, Tex. Why don't you take control of your Government and make it behave better towards people who live "South of the Border"? Until you do, you're going to have to live with increased illegal immigration, no matter what el Presidente' Trump does.

I'm sure you resent me telling you that but hey, it's your country/region of the world. Why is that I a casual observer can figure it out you can't? Could it be because you are advantaged by your Government? You don't care what happens down "South of the Border" unless it directly affects you? :roll

Here's an idea. Knock off the condescending bullshit and start treating people with respect. Texan can do it, even with people he doesn't agree with. Why can't you?

So, we should just turn our backs on the Asylum Seekers who need a place of refuge, ...
No we should sink their boats, video them drowning, and send the footage back to their place of origin.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Well, considering what has happened in the past with US trying to "clean up" places I think the rest of the world has a point, don't you, Tex?

However, Mexico is just one place "South of the Border". What are you suggesting should happen to say, el Salvador or Guatemala? How about that hell-hole, Panama? We've seen the consequences of US efforts to clean that place up, now haven't we?

What you need to do is take control of your Government and actually start treating people, "South of the Border" as human beings, rather than just a place to get cheap, illegal immigrants from, Tex. You know, the sort that sustain your agricultural sector? Or clean your houses or mind your kids... :roll

Who says I hate anybody, Black Orchid? Where have I expressed anything that could be construed by anybody who was sane as being "hateful"? :roll :roll

Any "sane" person would take a hint and realize by now, why they are constantly "denigrated" and why a large majority of forums they post on, think they're a piece of shit.

It's the condescension, the hypocrisy, the double standards and the arrogance. All of which you are displaying towards Texan simply because he is a patriotic citizen of his country and has a different view on cesspit-refugees than you do. Despite all this, he holds his ground and doesn't waiver from showing you respect. Seems he's a bigger man than you are, and ever will be. But that doesn't take much now, does it?

Then you have the gall to cry to admin that you're being targeted... yeah, she had the right of it. You earn all you get.
