My darling is feeling better.
She picked up just after she heard that she was now a great grandmother.

Man I feel old
A great grandfather.............. :scare
DEAR LORD - How old are you
I had the privilege of letting my great grandmother hold her first great great grandchildren. I was her first great grandchild when she was 63.
We, my life And I, both turn 61 this year, we have been married for 39 wonderful years, closing rapidly on 40 years.
I met her when we were just 18 and decided to marry 12 months later, but our families were a problem, she from wealthy parents, me from poor.
It took nearly 3 years to get over that little hurdle.

We also heard that " it wouldn't last"
Well, close to 40 years later, we still love each other.
We still do everything together and we still have a healthy, happy family.

A lot more than some can say.
And at 61 with our first great grandchild, there is an excellent chance we could one day be great, great grandparents.
Nice one!

Marrying into a wealthy family :bgrin

Its usually the woman being the "Gold Digger" :thumb
I wish.....

All I got from marrying my darling, was, my darling.

No money, no nothing, just a mother in law that hates me.

But I don't need no charity.
I get by on hard work and being frugal.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

It sounds like you started with all you needed and ended up with all you wanted. Good on ya.

My in laws were very frugal, and it's a good thing. My father in law was forced to retire when he was 60. His company decided to move to Atlanta and he didn't want to leave his family home. My FIL retired just before I met my wife, so I never knew him with a job. They were self sufficient until my FIL got down with Alzheimer's. He kept a huge garden until he was 85 years old. He kept his kids and grandkids in fresh vegetables for decades. My MIL is living with my wife's sister. She stays with us 1 or 2 days/ week. She's a tough old bird. At 74, she flipped off the back of a lawn tractor and broke her back. At 76, she beat breast cancer. At 84, she cracked her femur. At 85, she broke her hip and had a hip replacement. She has never been down for more than a couple of months with any of her accidents. She turns 88 next week. She is the only survivor of 8 siblings, including her brother she lost in the Bataan Death March in WW2. She uses a cane now, but can get around as well as my 73 year old mother. Her mind is slipping a little, but it doesn't seem to be anything as drastic or progressive as Alzheimer's.

Love will conquer, always.

The strong will will succeed.

Your in-laws sound strong and powerful people.
But now days every child is fed crap that nothing is their fault
They are told that others should not, cannot question or tell them they are wrong.
They are not allowed to fight back, do dangerous things, expand their horizons.

The young now live in cotton wool and it's sad that they never explore their true abilities to the full.

We are seeing our children and grandchildren becoming cattle.
Doing as they are told and never being more, because it's not politically correct.

It's sad, my wife and I have been through hard times.
Sometimes barely living from week to week.
But it strengthened our love, we had little but each other some times
And that was enough.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.

My boys never saw me working my way through college and struggling to make ends meet. They barely remember me being in the military. My oldest is in the military and has a family now. He knows exactly what I was going through. I hope his brothers learn from his successes and failures. They take their parents for granted, but at least they have the example.

My parents have been married 55 years. They are retired and doing pretty well.

Yeah, I get cha.
In the first years of our marriage, I was working 2 sometimes 3 jobs and studying.
Only Sunday was I available for my young family, and even then I slept for a goodly portion of that day.
Holidays were spent working as a contractor, all to get enough to buy a home.
We struggled through years of saving every cent, then, when we bought our first home, interest rates skyrocketed to 18%
We lived on what we could afford, hard times, but we had each other.
My darling did well, making meals go further, we shopped for specials, many of our clothes were from Salvation Army shops.
We were healthy, we were in our own home and we were well dressed, but we had little money.

As I advanced from my studies, things got better.
But we still live a frugal lifestyle
We do not waste money on frivolous things and only in the last few tears have we purchased new vehicles, making do in the past with used which I maintained.
But we didn't skimp on the necessities.
The best furniture, white goods and appliances were saved for and purchased, because they last longer.

We are now living comfortably
My eldest has properties and investments long worked for and deserved
My second child has just achieved his wishes and purchased a farm, and has a comfortable,if not wonderious income.
My youngest is still working at her dreams, probably still years away.
But from watching her parents and siblings, she has learned that hard work and sacrifice lead to success.

It's been a journey for me and the missus
A journey I doubt I could have made without her at my side.
Hard times are remembered fondly, good times celebrated.
This is life, and I can say tgat it has been good
Even with the world's worst grubberment trying their best to stuff it up.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

' ............ My darling is unwell ............ '

2 of my family members have had health issues recently.
1 has had a stroke, the other is in his 90s and is declining. The hospital can do no more for him.

Tough times are upon us.

Commiserations my friend
It's sad when a loved one passes, but it's sadder when it's a drawn out process.

My uncle, the most wonderful man on earth.
Who would give not only his shirt, but his pants as well.
Who was charatable to a fault and a genuine gentleman,
He got cancer.
A nasty painful cancer of the stomach.
It was well too late when it was discovered, and he suffered horribly.
This wonderful man as he declined was dreadful to behold.
Life is not fair, but in this mans case, it was decidedly unfair.

He hung on, the poor man, he did not want to leave his love, his wife.
Until she told him to pass peacefully and she would meet him in the afterlife.

6 months that wonderful man suffered.
His wife outlived him by nearly 20 years.
But he was never forgotten, his funeral was attended by too many people for the crematorium to fit, many stood outside.

I know uncle Jack is in heaven, now with his wife.
Sometimes DEATH is worse for the survivors than those who pass.

A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.

Sorry to hear that Sprint.

I lost an old friend this week which has greatly saddened me. He was only 55.
