I read somewhere that they were making "up to" $400 per day ... per person, I presume. Not bad for "begging". I actually thought that begging was against the law.

I wish begging were more illegal here. Bums like to write “Will work for food” on a piece of cardboard and look pitiful in the large cities. They make pretty good money from gullible saps. I flew into El Paso and checked into a hotel. Just before I got to the hotel, I passed some bums begging under a highway overpass. They pulled into the hotel and got in line behind me at the hotel. They got separate rooms and were talking about their homes a couple of hours away. As I walked outside to park my car, I noticed one of them opening his trunk. It was FULL of iced beer. It was all a big party for them.

Every once in a while, we’ll get an investigative story on the local news. A reporter will follow a “homeless “ person to their $50k car at the end of the day. Since they get money from my taxes, that’s all they get nowadays.
