Maybe your idiot money grabbing lefty marxists should have left it alone to begin with

The left really ARE for the workers right? So long as they KEEP WORKING into old age and drop dead before pension age!!
Will Morriscum change it back?

:rofl
With the state of the economy right now the answer is obviously not!

Why is it so amusing to you?

Where were you when Labor raised it? Did you think it was a wonderful idea and a 'responsible reform' like Swan and Macklin did?

"‘”Increasing the age pension age is a responsible reform to meet the challenge of an ageing population and the economic impact it will have for all Australians”

Responsible reform to meet the challenge of an ageing population? Give me a break!

So you were AOK with it back then but now choose to attack Morrison for not reversing it? You lefties never cease to amaze me.
Cant say I have ever been OK with it then or now! But one takes the hand they are dealt!

If I was a pragmatic person I probably would say raising it to 70 was the correct thing to do based on the longevity of the population rising!

I would also have to realise that this wouldnt suit all workers especially those employed in hard physical work bricklayers as an example. The proposal never seemed to take that into account.

As the number of people on the pension rises dont be surprised if it isnt visited again, I would bet my last dollar on that happening at some stage regardless of who is in power. Especially if you rightards get your wish of less immigration and our birthrate remains low.
I am sure it will be revisited again but Labor are supposed to be for blue collar workers and it would be cruel to expect them to work until they are 70.

I want less immigration of UNSKILLED workers. Get it right. Sydney is full and those hundreds of thousands dumped here are mainly NON skilled. 85% of all muslims here are not working after 5 years. THOSE are the ones I do not want.

We could also try to balance things out a bit more and get skilled workers from western countries instead of so many third worlders we now see in the hospital system who can't even speak English.
Unfortunately I dont think there is much of an attraction in western countries to migrate to Australia these days.

We need a recession in Europe but not Australia, I think when Ireland had that recession some years back there was a boost in migration to Oz from there!

One can only hope that the Muslims born in Australia might integrate better and get proper jobs apart from drug dealing or opening fake child care centres to screw the goverment purse! You do see a few younger muso women working in places like Woolworths, Bunnings etc these days so all may not be lost.

Expanding on this I have a HUGE problem with importing millions of people who end up on the dole and then punishing hard working Aussies, who have worked hard and paid tax all of their lives, by increasing their pension age just to pay for the imported dregs to live on welfare.

You should have a problem with this too!
I think we all do!

You see them in Woolies here too but that's hardly skilled labour and it takes away from our young.

We already have enough UNSKILLED workers. We don't need them or their parents out here either. I was annoyed that Morrison didn't address immigration during his Election Campaign. Maybe he will look at it later once he has settled?
It aint going to happen!

I think governments of all persuasions follow Dept Of Immigration (Home Affairs) advice on population requirements not forum bigots!

They supposedly base their findings on Australia’s security, economic and social cohesion objectives .

Neither party treats the elderly with the respect they deserve, imo.

With Libs it's a case of, "Let's cut funding here so we can look after big business."

With Labor it's, "Let's cut funding here to make room for all the festy, diseased towelheads to come here. Or send the funding over there because we are a pack of UN pansy boys.."

And this raising the retirement age to 70 is a fucking stupid idea. All that has resulted in, is a large of amount of over-fifties to sixty-fives getting on Newstart and expected to find work when most companies these days (particularly in the mines where they are anal about OHS) won't hire them if they can't pass a medical.

They deserve better. It makes me sick every year when people march for the ANZACs, and our politicans jump on the TV screen chasing moral brownie points.

If I were an ANZAC, I'd be turning in my grave.

Is the Age Pension age changing to 70?

In the 2014 Federal Budget, then-Treasurer Joe Hockey announced that the Age pension eligibility age would progressively increase to 70. However, this policy was officially scrapped by Prime Minister Scott Morrison in September 2018.
