Candidates receiving votes in excess of the quota, which is a proportion rather than a majority of the total vote, have their surplus votes distributed according to their electors’ ranking of preferences. If all the positions have not then been filled by candidates obtaining quotas by this means, then the next preferences of the voters for the least successful candidates are distributed, until all vacancies are filled by candidates obtaining quotas. No you don't. You make a preference against all the candidates in the HoR ballot and in the Senate you choose either above the line voting or below the line voting, Black Orchid. If you choose above the line, you make only one box. In below the line voting, you mark all the candidates according to your preference. You should have, by now, received a pamphlet from the AEC detailing how to cast a vote in this election. I recommend you read it.
