Yes, everybody knows all about you, what you had for breakfast, how many times you visit the toilet, etcetera and if they don't actually "know", they will make it up.

Think one of the Aussie "soaps" set in a Country Town .... Gossip Central.

I am ex-Victorian and only know the country towns down there. Great places to visit but I wouldn't want to live in any of them as I respect MY privacy and country folk don't seem to and especially as a new-comer, you would be the Talk of the Town.

I thought you were in Queensland? I don't know any country towns up that way but somebody here might be able to fill you in.

Good that you are thinking about retirement ... it's the best years of your life, provided your health remains stable.

yes, we have been seriously planning our retirement for about 4 years.
Wish I had started putting extra into my super earlier.

We are in no rush, considering i) Staying where we are.
ii) Buying a place in the Sunshine or Gold Coasts.

I still like working, so may as well continue to do that.
