I call them majorities because that is what they are. If they can garner sufficient votes from the other parties in Parliament, that is called democracy. Senate Voting is by necessity, more complicated than House Voting, Cods. It was chosen because of state wide electorates (except in Queensland where allowance was made for up to three electorates to be created - guess who did that? Joh, the greatest Tory of them all - crooked like them all, just 1000% worse.) It uses a modified Hare-Clarke system - which I note is an American system. Blame the Yanks for that one, hey?
