Re: FIFA World Cup 2018
Non event to me I am afraid as so many matches decided by penalty shootouts which seems a nonsense way of getting a result,
even though I do realise they probably have no other option to get the competition finished in a timely manner.

My workmate is an Englishman. I came in and said "Sorry to hear the news.'
He knew what I was referring to. Things like this are awful. It is an emotional/ego loss
It's another sign of the End Times.
Poor England.

Nicest hair, best acting ?
How about counting all goal shots which hit the bar as a half point?
( instead of zero points. )
Use the 'near goals' just as a games decider instead of penalty shots?
During the game, if one side gets 2 goals and the other gets 1, the final score is 2 , 1. No 'near goals' are attributed ?
Yes - just use hits to the bar as a decider.
If those hits are equal then do a penalty shootout.

No more ridiculous than getting 5 points for a try and then 2 points for a conversion in rugby. Perhaps each try should be just one point?
Why should they get the chance at 7 points just for getting the ball over the line? That's a bit too generous imo.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018
if you watch the games it demonstrates how bloody good these guys are. Defense is a big part of the game.
Like everything though, sometimes you need to have played it to appreciate how good they are and appreciate the game.
i am not big into soccer but the FIFA world cup games are worth the watch and hell it is only every 4 years.
Love rugby and the Rugby world cup games are just bloody brilliant. The standard of players and play are very high.
