I don't drink beer and think it is disgusting. I have, however, distilled my own spirits and liqueurs and made a mean bourbon and rum 8-)

I made a still a couple of years back with a large reflux tower, the first distilate I got from it I took along to my home brew shop to have them check the alcohol content , the best he could tell me with his gear was that it exceeded 97 percent,

The gauges that give you alcohol content are really cheap. They only cost a few dollars :thumb

Just remember to discard the first 100ml.

A little bit methol alcohol wont kill you lol, I have the gear to check alcohol content but this was so high i needed something a little more sophisticated to measure it , the guy said it was the highest alcohol content that any home brewer had brought in

I have a reflux still and my brew was always constantly in the high 90s.

I have set mine up with two thermometers A cooling coil at the top of the tower to regulate the exit temp
