I don't drink beer and think it is disgusting. I have, however, distilled my own spirits and liqueurs and made a mean bourbon and rum

I made a still a couple of years back with a large reflux tower, the first distilate I got from it I took along to my home brew shop to have them check the alcohol content , the best he could tell me with his gear was that it exceeded 97 percent,

The gauges that give you alcohol content are really cheap. They only cost a few dollarsBigP wrote:I made a still a couple of years back with a large reflux tower, the first distilate I got from it I took along to my home brew shop to have them check the alcohol content , the best he could tell me with his gear was that it exceeded 97 percent,
Just remember to discard the first 100ml.

A little bit methol alcohol wont kill you lol, I have the gear to check alcohol content but this was so high i needed something a little more sophisticated to measure it , the guy said it was the highest alcohol content that any home brewer had brought inBlack Orchid wrote:The gauges that give you alcohol content are really cheap. I have a reflux still and my brew was always constantly in the high 90s.
