Where did I suggest I have a problem with that, BO?

My problem is that we are forcing people to learn something they will discover they need to know, once they become a part of our society.

Many older Greeks and Italians have forgotten their English skills. Do we penalise them? And before you scoff, it is why we have specialised retirement homes for Greek and Italian senior citizens.
If you went to live in France or Germany would you not feel the need to learn their language? I know I would.
As I would. However, many English migrants to France and Italy never bother to learn French or Italian. Why? 'cause many people know English. Funny that, hey?

I suppose I could always just shout a lot, like many English people are portrayed as doing.

In reality, people learn a language because they have to. How do you think migrants to Australia are going to function if they don't learn English? Mmmm?

For decades bwian people have been coming here and some learn English here usually the children, but many live in Enclaves where English is not a primary necessity...

I know many Italians that do not know English or very much English at all and they work in an Italian Enclave and live in one. English is not a required language.... oh and bwian when you walk into their yard past their front gates you are no longer considered in Australia and bwian they all look to marry their children off to either children of other Italians here or send them "HOME" to find a good Italian wife or Husband... I know quite a few ethnicities that do the same thing bwian.

You live a very sheltered LW PC Prog life. :du

Two subject matters discussed on Sunrise this morning.
1. Our education system and Gonski recommendations
2. Tampon Tax

Some of you may not agree with my comments on both matters this morning, but it’s more likely my comments on the tampon tax will upset more people.

I simply think if Bill Shorten was serious about saving households money, he’d be looking to take GST off other essential products like electricity and not go for low hanging fruit like tampons just because we’re within 6 to 12 months of an election.

Bill Shorten is no crusader for women, he’s just a weak, opportunistic politician who doesn’t have the guts to tell people the truth.

His own party dropped the matter when they held Government.

They removed the policy from their website prior to the last election and only brought it back because we are likely to have an election in August, September or October of this year.

Weak! and I’ll call him out for it too.

There’s a push by Aboriginal leaders to rename some of the Gold Coast’s most iconic landmarks.

Initial thoughts are to ‘co-name’ the landmarks, but to eventually take them over like Ayers Rock was changed to Uluru.

The sites include Mt Warning, Burleigh Heads and Mt Stapylton.

Let’s be honest for a second. Changing the names of Gold Coast icons should be the last thing on indigenous leaders minds right now.

How about leaders of this nation, both black and white put their heads together to:

1. Put a stop to the rape of young indigenous kids in some remote communities.

2. Tackle the ever increasing number of aboriginal incarceration levels.

3. Prevent the spread of communicable diseases on country.

4. Reduce the alcohol and drug dependency numbers;

5. and create meaningful job opportunities with education programs the youth and their parents actually want to attend.

These wishy washy suggestions that changing the name of Australian landmarks is going to close the gap is just complete crap.

Ask yourself this question.

Would a name change have prevented the protesting of the Commonwealth Games while the worlds eyes were watching?

Please feel free to tell me I’m wrong.
Nailed it...

BILL SHORTEN AND THE $500,000 AWARDED TO ANOTHER RAPE VICTIM

Kathy, who was allegedly raped by Bill Shorten outed herself in an interview with News Ltd which was published on Thursday (2/10/14). She in effect said that the police covered it up with one example being that they failed to interview all the witnesses. This is consistent with numerous other rape cover-ups by the Victoria Police. One victim, Jemma Ewin, was awarded $500,000 compensation in August this year.

The rape allegation against Bill Shorten is a ticking time bomb that is getting louder and louder and will not go away and it got a lot louder when Kathy outed herself in the media this week. When it goes off is anyone’s guess but it will be sometime between now and the next federal election.

This website has covered the rape investigation since last November with numerous posts (Click here to read) and I will continue to do so because it has numerous ramifications for federal politics. The reporting of the investigation also shines a spotlight on the failings of the mainstream media and the rise of people using social media in their attempts to get justice.

Key point – Kathy has done at least three interviews and has not asked for money.

Kathy (she asked that her last name is not published) has to my knowledge not asked for money for any interviews and that gives her more credibility than if she had asked for money. It also points to her wanting justice and nothing else.

I don't know about you, but it makes my blood boil when I discover the Australian Government have given a $320 million dollar education scholarship package for up to 10,000 Africans to come to study in Australia.

Eligible Countries include Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroun, Cape Verde, Comoros, Congo(Republic of), Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia.

All of their expenses will be paid, including the uni degree.

Am I the only one who thinks this is complete madness?

Over half a trillion dollars in debt and here are the Government and Labor throwing borrowed cash around the globe.

It's an absolute insult to every citizen in Australia and a disgrace to hard working people who slave their guts out to be taxed so people like Julie Bishop can go around big noting themselves on a global stage.

These people are elected to represent you, not nations across the globe. I wish they'd remember that!!!
ffs... stop voting for the Major Parties...

they are not your friend... they are betraying australia and Australians...

its time to change...

A few of you have raised with my office today the $30 million dollar compensation package offered by the Labor Government to the Aboriginal people on Palm Island for the way police responded to a riot after a death in custody.

The Labor Party have chosen to give the 447 residents of Palm Island an equal share of $30 million dollars which works out to to just over $67,000 each.

Police are furious over the Labor Governments decision and I wanted to know what the general feeling is amongst the public?
Equals = Lets have a riot every single day of the week!!

fair Dinkum....

I won't be voting for either major party next election.

Might have to consider creating my own party I think.

AAP. Australian Accountability Party.

Whereby we focus on making the leading parties accountable, or has this been done already?

Meh, couldn't be bothered anyway.
