Had a bit of a drive down Fleurieu Peninsula yesterday. Was sunny when we started but by the time we arrived in Yankalilla:
Rain
No surprises then that the Yankalilla 'River' was running:
River
Driving on along the coast there is this high, steep hill. Have seen parachutists (base jumpers?) & paragliders launch from the top:
Hill
Down the coast from Yankers is the hamlet of Delamere. While the others stuffed their faces with junk food in the Trading Post/Post Office/Service Station I walked down the road to the cute but increasingly decrepit church there:
Church
I love browsing the headstones. Look at this lady, living for a blissful 47 years after hubby carked it:
Not fair!
Some convey a pathetic message:
Pathetic
Delamere is fairly old, as you can see from this headstone:
Old grave.
Turning inland and heading to Victor Harbor along the top of a ridge some great vistas present themselves:
Vista
Of course, in a couple of months that will all be dead and brown so glad we did decide to drive down the Penisula.
Sorry, not sure why the photo sizes couldn't be determined by phpbb, you will have to click to see

Yup, no entry into the sea folks!
Heh, in summer and at low tide the beach is broad and people drive cars onto the beach.
That flower spike is nearly 2m long! It used to be solid flower but waiting for the top bit to bloom the lower bit spread out a bit creating space between the flowers.
A good way to hide an ugly fence or chookhouse etc.

Agility last night. A sport that takes a lot of setting up:
Hehehehe lots of fun as new dogs are introduced to the sport, usually it is tunnels, but this dog has vertigo by the looks
I wanted a shot of Demi flying through the hoop but she was too fast and my camera too slow!

Heh, the bitch has really improved! Last night, Demi not tied up, I just said "stay" and ran off to adjust jumps (200mm, 300mm & 400mm) and she actually stayed! I felt that deserved more confidence from me so instead of carrying the lead I tossed it to where the run was to finish positioned Demi, told her "wait" and moved past a couple obstacles before calling her "Come, tyre through, over! etc. A BIG difference to 2007 when I last took her to agility training and she would run off every time!

Re: Photography
You are fucking joking, idiot! She loves the agility stuff! Look at the tail in the last photo, it is pointing up meaning the dog is happy!Shared Puppet wrote:Poor little Demi. She looks so sad.
Re: Photography
Heh, rats don't think so She is also pretty adroit at finding and eating chocolate biscuits or other food left in an 'unsafe' spot. "Where is that mooncake? Sees wrapper on floor "That bloody Demi!" We have learned that food (meat esp) has to be put well back from counter edges, she worked out a way of jumping and using a paw to hook the food off the counter!annielaurie wrote:Aww, she's adorable Jm!
