Kyle Sandilands told Barnaby off publicly, but he's the one who came across like a hillbilly and a thug.

RADIO host Kyle Sandilands has unleashed on Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce, describing him as a “wanker” for threatening to kill Johnny Depp’s dogs before hanging up.

Mr Joyce was scheduled to be interviewed about the dogs’ situation on Kiis FM this morning, but instead endured something more like an extended spray.

The host of the Kyle and Jackie O show warmed up by making his views perfectly clear.

“We just sound like a bunch of hillbilly redneck losers saying bugger off back to Hollywood or we’ll euthanise your dogs, it’s just too much,” Sandilands said. He was responding to Mr Joyce’s comments yesterday, which made headlines around the world.

“It doesn’t matter if Johnny Depp has been awarded sexiest man alive twice, it’s time Boo and Pistol bugger off home ... Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we’re going to have to euthanise them,” Mr Joyce said.

Once the minister got on the line, he didn’t stand a chance against Sandilands’ fury, with the host accusing him of grandstanding and asking whether he regretted his choice of words.

“Why do you have to sound like such a hero ... making out you’re going to kill someone’s dogs?” Mr Sandilands asked.

“It’s the law mate, that’s how it works,” Mr Joyce countered, struggling to get a word in.

“You sound like an absolute clown telling the guy to bugger off to Hollywood or we’ll kill his dogs. You sound like an idiot.

“You’re a government minister, not some idiot off the street mouthing off to a news camera. Have some decency.”

The irony of being told off by the controversial radio host was not lost on Mr Joyce who said: “That’s interesting coming from you mate”.

But that fired up Sandilands even more, with the host cutting him off angrily: “Oh shut up Barnaby, you’re an absolute joke Barnaby ... I’m going off because you sound like an insensitive wanker ... you’re a joke, you’re a disgrace and you should retract your statement and reword it properly.”

Mr Joyce was almost left speechless by the spray, saying “Jesus, you’re a savage little man aren’t you?” and co-host Jackie O tried to calm the situation down before Sandilands decided to hang up on the minister.

True, he's not a minister, but he of all people can't talk.

I think it was irresponsible and disrespectful of Depp to bring his dogs into Australia without following quarantine protocol.

Film Stars can't just arrive here in their Private Jets with their cute little dogs. Australia has Quarantine arrangements for a VERY GOOD reason. They have to follow the RULES, like everybody else who comes here.

Barnaby was right to bring it up but the dogs had been here for a MONTH already. Who knows what "germs" they left at the "exclusive doggie parlour" at the Gold Coast where they had their little bottoms cleaned, etcetera.

I just think that people like Depp (cutest guy ) needs to take notice of the RULES of FOREIGN countries and it was probably his "minders" that fucked up ... doubt he would be arranging transport of his wife's puppies. Someone needs to be TOLD.
