You get it, I get it...
ted is a no account with limited comprehension apparently.
No one said Fleming didn't accidentally discover a mould with certain antibiotic properties.
I've posted it several times now an apparently ted still doesn't get it... he is as pedantic and stupid as aussie.
So I'm ignoring his stupidity.
Perhaps this might help some who struggle....
There were many who had discovered the moulds antimicrobial properties, and long before Fleming.
Fleming didn’t really do much other than observe, grow and distribute a pure strain of the mould ...Penicillium notatum.
Not penicillin the DRUG itself as he lacked the expertise to stabilise the culture for medicinal commercial use.
There were plenty before Fleming who's scientific research was either ignored or dismissed.

A decade later...In Oxford, Australian Howard Walter Florey organised his large and very skilled biochemical research team, notable among them Ernst Boris Chain and Norman Heatley, to undertake innovative work to produce a stable penicillin.
Penicillin is a group of antibiotics derived from the penicillium fungi.
Penecillin itself is neither a mould or a fungi...it;s a compound.
And old Flem boy did not discover the compound Penicillin, because he lacked the pharmacological expertise required to produce it.
Ted, your problem is you are confusing Penicillin (the stable compound/drug) with the culture, penecillium.
Thats the last thing I’ll say on the matter.
