Gillard 'Times' shortlisted for being sexist

Post by mellie » Fri Apr 05, 2013 1:52 pm

It's funny old times we live in, when who would have thought one, let alone an Australian PM could receive an accolade for being sexist.

According to Times...
Ms Gillard is nominated on the back of her fiery attack on Tony Abbott.

"Australian Prime Minister whose parliamentary speech about the opposition leader’s misogyny was heard around the world,".

Rupert Murdoch's eldest daughter Elisabeth, Chairman and CEO of British TV production company Shine, is the only other Australian on the list.
Oh, and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has been short listed too.

More controversially, Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler, the biggest mass murderers in history, won the accolade in the 1930s

She's been nominated she's not on the list.
IQS already started a topic on it.
You can vote against her there.

Last time I looked she was losing. 56/44

According to Time Magazine, she's been short listed.

Read ..Learn.....to!!

Time 100 is an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, as assembled by the American magazine Time. First published in 1999 as a result of a debate among American academics, politicians and journalists the list is now an annual event. Although appearing on the list is frequently mistaken as an honor Time makes it very clear that people are recognized for changing the world, for better or for worse.

Check what Germain Greer had the gall to write about Julian Assange, in Times100 'Muckraker'.

http://www.time.com/time/specials/packa ... 07,00.html

It seems, Time is of the view that it's acceptable to denigrate men, even influential men who really do influence world opinion, for better or worse.

Has Gillards fishwife rant influenced people around the word, the way Wikileaks Julian Assange has?

Not even close.

In 10 ... even 50 years from now, the world will still be talking about Julian Assange, that Wikileaks guy gave us the Climatic Research Unit email controversy (also known as "Climategate") embarrassing a Copenhagen UN summit as the world looked on ...yet 50 years from now the only thing people will be wondering about Ms Gillard the unelected, is how she managed to squander a surplus and rack up so much debt all the way from her kitchen.

A short list is not a list?

Fucktard!

Noun 1. shortlist - a list of applicants winnowed from a longer list who have been deemed suitable and from which the successful person will be chosen.

ONE of the world's most illustrious news magazines has included Australian PM Julia Gillard in a poll to determine this year's most influential people.

Ms Gillard is a nominee for the TIME 100, an annual poll of the most influential people on the planet.

Featuring the leaders, artists, innovators, icons and heroes that Time believe are the world's most influential, the shortlist includes Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, financier Warren Buffett and China's new president Xi Jingping.

The long list of 153 also includes The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, David and Victoria Beckham and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

Ms Gillard is nominated on the back of her fiery attack on Tony Abbott.
