It'll be a judicial inquiry, it will hardly involve Abbott or the Coalition except to set it in motion. :roll:

They have already had an inquiry. There was the absolute farce set up by Howard in the mid 2000's....Cole's utterly useless Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry which provided nothing other than a fee feast for the Lawyers involved. Not one person was charged with any offence as a result of that Royal Commission (apart, from memory, some Union thug/idiot who ignored a requirement that he attend to give evidence.) Cole later retired as a joke in the Legal Community, and his Report was most appropriately used (if you can believe Alan Jones) as door stoppers.

I think you linked to the incorrect article there. That link points to Abbott stating "THE Coalition's pursuit of the AWU affair will continue if it wins the next election with Tony Abbott promising a judicial inquiry into union corruption".

Well, if Abbott wins, I hope he goes for it. I would not mind a couple of more investment properties for the grand-kids.

Correct link, Naffy.

They have already had an inquiry.

That link points to what Abbott just said, i.e. Tony Abbott promises inquiry on union corruption ....... not the Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry that you claim was an absolute farce.

I see you have trouble with understanding "terms of reference" :roll:

Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry

(ii) fraud, corruption, collusion or anti-competitive behaviour, coercion, violence, or inappropriate payments, receipts or benefits; and

(iii) dictating, limiting or interfering with decisions whether or not to employ or engage persons, or relating to the terms on which they be employed or engaged;

(b) the nature, extent and effect of any unlawful or otherwise inappropriate practice or conduct relating to:

(i) failure to disclose or properly account for financial transactions undertaken by employee or employer organisations or their representatives or associates; or

(ii) inappropriate management, use or operation of industry funds for training, long service leave, redundancy or superannuation;

(c) taking into account your findings in relation to the matters referred to in the preceding paragraphs and other relevant matters, any measures, including legislative and administrative changes, to improve practices or conduct in the building and construction industry or to deter unlawful or inappropriate practices or conduct in relation to that industry.

Just about all of them (those Terms of reference) allowed for him to inquire into Union corruption, and quite incompetently, he did.......and not one person was even charged of an offence.
