I can see one here:

Different stones have different thicknesses -
if you just swap a stone it will sharpen at a different angle.
Unless you have a "slip collar" on your device to allow for different thicknesses
of the progressive stones you'll use - then it won't work properly.

Maybe I misread. Didn't you say you had an engineering degree?Bobby wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 6:05 pmI can see one here:

On that device, the stone does not control the angle. The stone, whichever one you use, is totally/completely static concerning angle. The angle is created by that slender arm which moves inside a ball joint type of thing.

You start with one stone which you accept as your wanted angle.
Then when you change to another stone of a different thickness the angle will change.

Aussie,
it's all explained here:
How To: Using the Edge Pro Drill Collar

The drill collar allows the user to pretty much instantly adjust for the difference in the thickness of each stone. Without the drill collar the user would need to manually adjust the angle arm which is difficult and time consuming. This method is fast and takes all of the guess work out of it.

Okay.....that makes sense. Hmmmm....
Maybe I have bought the wrong device but the Ruixin is touted as the best.
