Correct Grammar

Post by mellie » Sat Oct 31, 2015 11:46 am

Is it...

A) She patted the dog.

Or

B) She pat the dog.

I think B is the correct answer , however Bart thinks it's A.

You see guys, Bart can't be blamed for his poor grammar.... he's from Melbourne, they do things differently down here in Mexico. ;)

I think both can be correct depending on the context and tense.

Neither context nor tense can even remotely turn "she pat the dog" into any semblance of good grammar.

"She pats the dog" present tense or "she patted the dog" past tense.

None of us are experts in English comprehension. I can't see a problem with using either phrase and I'll stick to that.
