I mean the post above is proof of his disconnect from reality. The trend for the Greens in Melb was up- the swing went towards them.

Only Monk could come out of a by election where labor lost the primary vote with a 7% swing against them and Greens gained it and somehow, someway in his fucked up little universe say that the Greens are on a slide

Quiz: Since Newspoll started in the mid 1980's, the occurrence of 28% or less support for an incumbent has occurred 7 times.
Name each prime minister under which they occurred

P.s. I don't think newspoll has always reported the primary vote.

Awwww, I was hoping Monk would answer.
You are correct Mattus
Im not sure when/if Newspoll didn't include the primary vote. I would have assumed this was always the case. The pref PM I think is a recent addition

Apparently, a third of the Melbourne Electorate didn't bother to turn up to vote and preferred to stay home and wait to be fined the $70 they could get fined. Only about 66.3% had their names crossed off the Roll. There was a large amount of informal votes as well.
