Actually mantra, the jews were never 'kicked out' of Europe (as a whole)...they were expelled from different countries at different times....during the various Crusades from the 11th to the 13th centuries, from England in 1290AD, from France several times, by various kings etc.....they just moved to another country..
Yes - welcome Gizmo.
There is conflicting information, but my knowledge of their history is scant. Isn't it true that they were not formally accepted in Europe until the 17th century and had to spend 400 years in exile until that time? Information on their whereabouts is vague. Obviously they did move to other countries, but I would assume it was incognito.

That's the problem...Europe in those days was made up of dozens of small countries..And basically it was only the 'Big Three' (England, France and Spain) that actually passed laws banning them from entering. Of course that may have been in spirit more than in fact ( i.e 'we won't notice until we want to' type of thing)......Also a lot of countries did also ban jews from owning property, while allowing them to live in thhe country...

I think Mantra has been listening to the Muslims on OzPolitic. The propaganda is almost identical.

Unfortunately it's not restricted to just the Muslims...it's pretty common in Christian and Conspiraloon religions too...

I agree with quite a few of the comments from the Muslims - not all of them of course. Considering the ridiculous questions they get asked on Ozpolitic - they do a pretty good job when they respond, but I have been as critical of them as I have been of the Jews, Christians, Bretheren etc.
There is more prejudice against the Muslims from the haters, than the simple little questions and statements I've been making. As usual any serious quest for discussion only meets with derision and non-answers, although Gizmo did make some effort in his earlier post.
We'll have to call the Jews the untouchables. Why are they so precious compared to everyone else?

Basically because most of the 'anti-jewish' comments are based on bias and bigotry, rather than logial and reality....Of course the same can be said for Islam...to a certain extent..
I really don't have an issue with complaints about the government of Israel...providing the complaints are actually based on the GOVERNMENT....when people 'complain' about Israel, because they're 'jews' I do take issuse....unfortunatley, 90 or 95% of the 'problems' people have with the country of Israel are based on the ethnicity/religion of the population, and NOT on the behaviour of the government...

Christian religious bigots blamed the Jews for the death of Jesus.
The Jews also kept their customs tho they didn’t and don’t force other people to heed them, unlike Muslims who insist Australia adapt to Muslim beliefs and practices.
Jews were forbidden to own land and restricted to certain parts of the country, at least in Russia, and suffered regular pogroms sanctioned by the state. They entered the professions because they couldn’t own land etc hence “My son The Doctor.” Plenty are in acting, of course, Roy Rene here, Marx Bros in early 20thC US and still today. Charlie Chaplin another.

Yep, that's most of the problem...jews (and a few other groups, like the gypsies, the amish, the quakers etc) tend to be somewhat insular...(i.e they don't like or recruit 'outsiders')......which makes them vulnerable to bias and bigottry...because they are 'different'
