Captain Emad just walks out of the country, illegal immigrants just sail in and the govt has lost control of the borders.

Is this the bloke that lives in Canberra and does the trolley run for Woollies?
Probably- he more than likely took his Centrelink payments and bought a ticket when it started getting too hot. Of course the heat was not applied by the govt or immigtration dept. They are run by a hopeless govt.Neferti~ wrote:Really? So WE paid to get rid of him?
So you are all for letting them set up a business model here to take advantage of a UN proposition?Plough wrote:This whole boat people thing is a hoax. I am sick of it. There is more than enough room here for all of those displaced who want to come. Dont get me wrong, if the oposition can use it to get rid of the Gillard / Swan unholy aliance of fuck sticks great. However We need to be more charitable to those who are only trying to make a better life for themselves in the greatest country on earth.
Let them come, put them to work, welcome them. They are people afterall.
Our country is big but we are infrastructure poor. Work is also a problem as the majority of refugees are unemployable. They are given visas, houses, furniture and whitegoods and then they bring their large families over who also are unemployable.Plough wrote:This whole boat people thing is a hoax. I am sick of it. Of course we should share with our neighbours, but in the meantime many Australians are battling to keep afloat. We are borrowing money to ensure the refugees are housed comfortably - regardless of our existing homeless.
The cost of living has skyrocketed to such an extent that people are compromising on food and electricity to keep a roof over their head.
The flow of displaced people has to slow down. NZ just refuses outright to take any more refugees because they can no longer afford them. We need to do the same - selfish as it seems.
