Re: Sydney....
Aaaaahhhhh memories.
Used to hit the Hero of Waterloo in the Rocks every Saturday night for a year in 1981.... great place. Then hit the cross.
Philips De Foot (sp?) were the best for a cook it yourself steak.

Re: Sydney....
I never liked the night life in Sydney and found it quite sleazy. The entertainment on the North Shore was a lot more colourful and interesting. The city itself has always been quite bleak although of course the harbour is beautiful at times.
The daily traffic reports regarding the freeways are horrific. Motorists pay a fortune to commute to work on these bumper to bumper "expressways" - in some cases hundreds of dollars a week for short, but frustratingly slow trips. Now the state government is talking about lumping everyone with a new tax where you will pay by the kilometre to use the roads - and this is a Liberal government talking.
Like Black Orchid - I grew up in Sydney, but rarely visit there now. It's too crowded and the stench of humanity makes it difficult to breathe.

Re: Sydney....
I know what you mean by the foul stench of humanity Mantra, coming back from the hospital the other day I thought I might take a detour and pop-in-to Footscray to get some groceries on my way home, when the smell of multicultural inner-urban city grime bowled me over as I got off the train.
I honestly dry-reached!
I am not a fan of inner-city dwelling, I much prefer the leafy burbs, this and think it's time we did something to curb the ethnic (refugee) sprawl in both cities, Melbourne and Sydney.
This and also think some of them should shower more frequently, ie, more than once a year.

For those not familiar with Footscray...

I was so glad to get back on the train.
I am told, the only thing it has going for it is the Station Hotel, and only if you can overcome the foul cankerous odious waft excreting from the back of the shops exhaust fans (and from underneath the refugees armpits and groins) ..... on the opposite side of the station.
Overfilled bins being ravaged by abnormally large black crows seems to be a problem there also.
Not my scene.

We need some hygiene police - but still some people revel in body odour, regardless of how offensive it is to the general public.

Monk thinks that dogs doing a "dump" on TV is hugely amusing, he posted a YouTube copy on his Blog. Goes to show that I am right about his lack of a sense of humour!
Dogs squatting, men getting "cricket balls" in the groin, anyone slipping over in a shopping place is NOT funny.
Dogs will roll in anything disgusting after they have had their 6 weekly (or whatever) bath! They stink so we bath them and then, first opportunity they will roll in anything smelly. A Hunting thing? A left over from the Neanderthals and their "pet" dogs?
Speaking of Neanderthals ...........

If you get a chance, IQ, check out Holdsworth Street in Woollahara ... not very far from Paddington but was a much more upmarket place to live way back ..... original terrace houses on the outside but worth many millions these days.IQ popping wrote:Im sure Monk and Aussie are pissing their adult diapers and slapping each other on the back with mirth over dogs shitting...hyucking it up
Re: Sydney....
I had a flashback to an early PC game I played many years ago whilst driving through Sydney and it was triggered by those cockroaches of the bitumen...the cyclist
The game was Carmegeddon and I saw myself flattening the pedal and the blood and entrails flying while giggling hysterically.
I'm not sure there would be a jury that would convict me

I remember that game, (Carmegeddon) my father and my son loved it.
Cockroaches of the bitumen indeed, but don't let Abbott hear you say that or else he might bludgeon you to death with his stack-hat.
