Many of us have probably been threatened with murder by a sibling, but few would take it this far. This boy must have loved his computer more than his sister.

POLICE have arrested a man after he mowed down his sister with a car because her cat urinated on his computer.

Police have been told an argument broke out between the siblings at their home in Winmalee in the Blue Mountains at about 2.30pm yesterday.

The man, 20, was allegedly furious after his sister's cat urinated on his computer.

Police will allege the woman, 19, was dragged across the floor and her cat thrown into her brother’s car.

She was then struck by the man’s car as drove along Heather Rd outside the home.

She was badly injured, suffering a fractured spine, fractured leg and a collapsed lung and remains in a serious condition in Nepean Hospital.

The brother was charged with common assault and negligent driving and bailed to appear at Penrith Local Court on May 15.

The cat was not harmed during the incident.

I have never, ever threatened or been threatened this way, even in jest as in "I'll kill you if you do that again" ......

Mantra, Why would you even say that "many of us" would even think such a thing of our siblings?

I had 3 younger sisters and, naturally, we had our arguments when little and living under the same roof. I can't say that my sisters and I are "close" but we would never, ever want to harm each other in anyway.

I don't think my sibling ever said he would murder me, although some of our fights could have led to murder if we'd been less restrained. We've always been close though - so no harm done.

I said "many" because it's not uncommon for siblings to grow up resenting each other and becoming estranged when they're adults.

Siblings can fight with fury when they're kids and of course at times there are nasty threats tossed around.

I don't have any siblings, but just cant help but wonder if the outcome of this incident was entirely intentional, deliberate, and or if this family have a history of domestic violence.

I am not making excuses for you young man, not what so ever, but what if all he really intended on doing was throwing the mongrel cat in the car to take it to the pound, or give his sister a fright, (so she'd keep her cat from urinating on his things) whereby his sister became enraged, neurotic, then proceeded to try and physically stop him or his car from leaving with the cat herself?

What I am saying is, perhaps his intention was not to run her down, perhaps it was a sibling squabble that got out of hand, became physical, then ended in tragedy.

Call me naive, it's just I find it hard to believe this young mans intention was to kill or severely harm his sister, that or the incident itself was premeditated.
The fact that he took the cat and put it in his car tells us he was angry with the cat, this and had probably planned on disposing of this, not his sister, if I have this wrong, I stand corrected.

Without knowing this family's history, his sisters history either for that matter, It's really hard to pass judgement either way,
She might be bigger than him, this and has a history for physically assaulting her brother, that or may have been attacking him at the time he threw her cat into the back of his car. Who knows!

I would like to hear the full story, I mean siblings fight, perhaps the sister has a history for being violent herself and has taken a cricket bat to her brothers car or head once or twice herself?

I doubt this is an isolated incident...you can bet these siblings have been at it for years, and given the location, are probably related in more ways than one.

Failing this, and assuming the sister is a normal balanced young lady, and this was an isolated incident, perhaps the brother is mentally unstable?

Or is abusing substances or something?

Guys, it's Winmalee ...

Take a look at their local Gazette...I mean, I don't know what the front page of your local rag usually says, (ours usually commemorates locals and their achievements) and apart from this, is usually quite uneventful, boring, but check theirs out.

This gives you some idea what sort of area these people live in.

And the sister isn't a dainty little thing, she has arms like a trucky.

The brother must have been massive too, in order to have been able to drag this delicate little flower along the floor by the hair without a forklift. lol

I am glad the cat wasn't harmed but I am bemused at the fact it allegedly peed on a keyboard. Very strange behaviour

Resentment in siblings and estrangement as adults is more common than you think

Perhaps the cat was jealous of it's owner spending too much time on the computer? In my experience, cats sleep 18 hours a day and spend 5 minutes rubbing up against you to show their "affection" and need for FOOD.

Cats have been known to pee in areas to mark their spot, including chairs, beds, rugs, pot plants so why not keyboards? ........

My once boarder smacked my cat (not hard) on the rump for jumping on the bench (I think) when he was trying to prepare a meal, that same night, my cat shat in his work-bag.

About a month after this, my daughter chastised and tapped him lightly (I think he ripped the head off one of her small dolls) so he pissed in her school-shoe.

It was perfect, never seen anything like it, (He didn't spill a drop on the floor, it stayed within the shoe until I move it of course--had fantastic aim,,;-)) so this cat pissing,possibly due to being in disgust with it's owner or in this case, her sibling is not out of character for cats.



They can be quite vindictive, this and have long memories. Dogs will often forgive and forget after a pat and a meal, however this is not the case with cats who demand your utmost respect.

They are a dignified creature, and you should never smack them no matter the circumstances, because it's pointless.
