I think the budget might be reasonably well received by a lot of people. It's about time the government got around to dismantling the Howard government's porkbarrelling.

We all know that Swan's budget is full of lies and deceit already, so it will only appeal to the brain dead morons or GALP voters (excuse the tautology).

Besides, the budget is merely a forecast, it is not reality/actuality.
The real measure will only be found after Sep13, by then Gillard will be unemployed as will most other ALP MPs, all the independents and the Green MPs.

No, Mantra, the porkbarelling will continue under GALP. I really wish that GALP would stop the stuff Howard bought in as "helping" families. We have created a whole generation who expects The Government to pay for their excesses.

Maybe Tony Abbott can EASE current recipients of TAXPAYER dollars in the form of "family help". Bring back the "tightening belt"? People wont like him but it HAS to be done! Otherwise, Australia as we know it is shot!

As you have said, Mantra .... "our" generation got absolutely NOTHING from the Government, so we had to go out to work after a divorce and do it ALL by ourselves .......... at 17.5% housing interest rates (under Hawke and Keating). We survived. Even paid off a Mortgage and sent our kids to Uni (which has NEVER been Free).
