Very smooth, tangy and spicy. New season grannies are out, make a batch!

What? Nobody reading your Food Thread? :rofl

People who come here usually do so to read/discuss POLITICS .... not talk about what they are having for dinner.....

You have obviously never been hungry in your life.

Nothing is more political than food! Try doing without food for 24 hours I dare you!

Anyway, my lovely smooth, tangy-spicy applebutter will be enjoyed over the next few months!

The problem I see with your apple butter recipe Monk is that it takes too long to cook.

I love lemon butter, but as it's so rich, you wouldn't use it much. There are much simpler recipes containing just a handful of main ingredients - butter, sugar, eggs, squeezed lemon juice and a bit of grated rind - cooked in a baine marie and taking less than 30 minutes.

Neferti - no-one is discussing politics. Monk's recipes always look so tasty, but unless you love cooking - they are too complicated for some of us to attempt.

I have gone without food for 24 hours. Once you get over the fact you missed a meal, you don't even feel hungry.

Only FAT people think about FOOD and their next meal all day long. Healthy people can quite easily go without food for a day without it causing "distress".

Does beer count as food?

It does in Munich.
MUNICH BEER BACKGROUND: Former Munich resident Karl Marx wasn’t kidding around when he declared beer to be the “staple food of Munich”.

The Germans even classify beer as food for tax purposes making for wonderfully reasonable prices – beer is cheaper than cola or bottled water just about everywhere you go.
Beer is usually served in half-litre glasses, but the one-litre Maß is also very common.
At most beer festivals including Oktoberfest it’s all they serve. Quarter-litre glasses do exist, but tend to be reserved for grandmas.
Draught beer is termed "vom Fass". Munich beer is best enjoyed in a beer garden with a few good friends, pretzels, quality banter and a few laughs.

I fast 16 hours everyday and 36 hours once a week. FD is right - hunger goes away.

Why do you do this?
Some tell me that it prolongs life. What is your reason?
