Carr was always quite popular, but he retired because he was burnt out. The job of Foreign Minister must be quite cushy for him to be enticed back to politics. It will mean free full time around the world travel for him and his wife until he retires again. Can politiians collect two parliamentary pensions? If he sticks it out for 7 years - he'll be entitled to it all over again.

So it becomes apparent to the politicognoscente that Rudd did not resign, he was fired, and Arbib "fell" on his sword as part of the deal to create the opportunity to parachute Carr into Canberra. Now, Bob Carr is a statesman, of that there can be no doubt. He's the picture of diplomacy and will be a fine Foreign Minister - maybe no Kevin Rudd, but he'll be okay. But this cynical manoeuvring with utter disregard for the electorate only underscores how out of touch Labor has become. The New South Welsh and even Victorians may see the wisdom in such an appointment because they know who Bob Carr is. But do Gillard and her flunkies not realise that the electorates in Western Australia and Queensland alike are asking themselves "Who the fuck is this Bob Carr? I never voted for him? He never stood in any federal election? Now he's a fucking member of cabinet?". Watch the polls plummet in response to this arrogance. WA and QLD are beyond irredeemable to the ALP at either a state of federal level at this point. They're probably ready to succeed (again).

Anna Bligh must be fucking livid.

Apparently the plan is to just give Abib's senate seat to Carr, but my understanding is, that is not legal. A by-election for Abib's senate seat must held first.
'Senator Field' (otherwise known as Rambo the Puny with rampant prick)....please explain how it is not legal....you limitless guru you.

Liebor have already written off WA as a lost cause for them. They know that they can never retrieve votes from WA...they think that QLDrs are still minus a brain cell or three and can take advantage of that

It has become obvious that nearly everyone is waking up to the fact that labor is shit

Nevertheless, the arrogance, the utter hubris of placing an unelected man into the front bench at the expense of the most popular politician in the country is a vote loser. It's a giant "fuck you" to the electorate. It's a fucking disaster.

Carr will be great in the job, but this is absolutely the worst way of putting him in it.

Not with me. I caught him out bull$#!++ing before he was even elected .. just wish I could remember what about. So I never trusted him, ever.
Some PC wankers implied that because he has an asian missus, he was a good non racist bloke.
But I said "So what, I have a Korean adopted sister, does that make me a better person?".

My phukwit mother was trying to get me to hand out ALP HTVs for Carr's election.
I said "You must be joking, I hate the Labor Party, and especially can't stand this Carr wanker".

Then he phuked over NSW in more ways than I can or care to remember.
People bitch about the current Libs selling off publicly owned/payed for assets, well it all began with Carr (in NSW).

Thought you reckoned you were a lawyer.
Well mugsly, believe it or not, in a Westminster democracy a parlimentary or senate seat is won by a candidate elected by a ballot of voters. So if an elected member quits/resigns, their seat cannot be given, sold, or raffled off by that member's colleagues. It can only be re-won via a by-election.

I suggest you read the first chapter of the Australian Constitution mugsly.

Oi, Rambo....it is not all about you. Can I get you to address what you claimed was an 'illegality' in his appointment?

Please..........................

8-)

Senator Field. Joh the Jerk......

Do you need any other hints?
