I'd guess it was either too many manhours being spent moderating, or to maintain the ABC's semblance of political impartiality.
but the effing ABC is OURS and the employees are Government paid. So taxpayers funds.

Guess it was Howard's fault. LOL

I have stated, as you know, I joined just before it got killed. The exact reason was not worthy of storing in long term memory. I have more important thing to deposit there like remembering everytime you lie. That requires a significant amount of space.
Bullshit. You were all over ele, post JJJ, raving on about what you said were her evils there. Oh......were you forging that shit about ele as well?
You're an idiot and a liar Aussie.

There is no need to forge, your lies don't need embelishment. They are here for all to see.

More likely than you might think.

The official line from JJJ was that the forum was never meant to be permanent, and was set up only for the political coverage in 2001, they got around to closing it in 2003 after a review of resources. This says volumes about the agility of public broadcasting management in Australia? There was a some suggestion that they had forgotten all about the forum and were only alerted to it when a pollie complained about some obvious libel posted there.

Nevertheless, PA lasted a lot longer on ABC than it did on the privately owned Proboards, who pulled it without notice at the first complaint received for use of the word "Fuckass" in a post.

Well in 2001 I was a mere child. Had no idea of or interest in politics. Life was good!

That is ultimately correct. At Proboards...........there was prior history of language as no-one would find surprising. I do recall that Proboards stated that they 'pulled it' because a Moderator was transgressing their Terms. PA was very vulnerable to a complaint about violation of Terms, and some arsehole ???????? took advantage. I have no idea, but someone like Carly, who had been booted by Shrink, had the motive.

Let me guess

"Fuckass" was directed at Aussie?

Aussie, of course, sneaky as always, posted only the backside of his head revealing a balding spot. PA actually had parties when members got together ... think they were always in Sydney. And photos of those parties were posted as well.
You are a cockhead, truly. There were a couple of meetings in Sydney......attended by Shrink, Dr Nick, Brooke, xbz, The Colonel, AnimalMother, Carly went to the first, and two others ladies whose names escape me....gawd......the lady who joined the Navy, and the lady who worked for an airline. Yes, photos were posted.

But.....cockhead.....there were also two in Brisbane. The first at The Vic Hotel (since burned to the ground) and the attendees were myself, Daz, G-Force (and his non PA girl friend)....and Mattus. Yes, photos were posted. I recall Mattus copped plenty because an idiot took the opportunity to personally abuse his appearance. The second was at Milton. Attended by me, xbz (accompanied by her male friend) and Evolve was supposed to be there, but he failed to show up. No photos were taken.

I know those of me were later taken down, because I asked that they be removed.....I was not Modding at the time.......so it had nil to do with me. Yes, stalking crap had commenced....can you guess from whom?

On the matter of photos....there was one which takes the cake. It included a message to me, AiA. Do you know who, and why?
Yes, dickweed, I recall there being other meetups outside of Sydney. Don't be coy about the stalking and messages Aussie. Go for it. We know how you love to play the victim and relish in the telling of it.
