As with any sandwich shop?

Just never considered them to be 'fast food' outlets

I've always thought it was a fast food outlet too. It's definitely not an ordinary sandwich shop. There's something very artificial and sugary/spicy/sloppy about the rolls and it wouldn't be a surprise if the vegetables & condiments come out of a tin and are imported from some third world country. This is probably why FD has problems after digesting them.

The best sandwiches can always be found at delicatessens (aside from your own kitchen of course). The bread is crunchy crusted and fresh as are the salad vegetables and meat.

Subway is far from healthy, the rolls are dense and high in kilojoules, and lets face it, what are they without their continental combinations of cold deli meat, swiss cheese, fatty sauces?

A dry bread roll with a bit of limp leaf litter, but dont let this stop you consuming more kilojules at what you thought was a healthy alternative to regular takeaway, ha ha ha when in reality, you might as well buy a burger and be done with it, the rolls alone are over the kj allowance.

 Here take a look, add it up for yourself.

You do the maths...would you like a chock chip cookie and a large flat syrupy coke with that slab of fat and grease sauce between two oversized chunks of highly processed bread?

A healthier takeaway is chicken Chow Mein served on just boiled rice with crispy noodles, (not the soft ones) and just sprinkle them from the packet, keep them in an airtight container for another time, don't eat them all at once, a table spoon or two is enough just to give it some texture and crunch.

Thanks for explaining that Mel. I knew there was something very suspect about those rolls and the sauces and vegetables have a very weird taste. Obviously it's all the sugar and artificial flavours in them.

I don't eat fast food, Subway or otherwise. Twice a year I will buy a fillet-o-fish from Maccas and wipe off all the mayo.

When I walk past a Subway in an enclosed space I feel ill from the smell of the bread baking. Makes me feel woozy and sick. Finding that the older I get the more sensitive I am to smells. Turns me off it altogether

Wipe off the mayo?

Just tell them you want one without Mayo....they will then abstain from squeezing their pustulent corpuscles on their acne vulgaris faces .... its no coincidence they employ the kids with the most acne Mantra... 8-)

I like the taste of the mayo but without having to suffer half a cup of it. Hence I just wipe it off and still get the flavour. BTW I am not Mantra

I can confirm that you're not me also. I'd say Mel has just made an error.

I rarely eat McDonalds - maybe once a year, but I always feel sick after I've eaten one of their burgers. It's pretty much the same at food malls in shopping complexes. There are too many bugs in food that's been sitting around for too long. I've had food poisoning once after eating Chinese takeaway which has turned me right off fast food. Most food needs to be refrigerated immediately - but it's often left sitting at room temperature by slack employees.

The magic words, BO/Mantra are........."I'll have a Fillet of Fish with a half shot of sauce please."
