Nonversation
nonversation
\’nan-ver-sa-shen\ noun [From Middle English non, not; and Latin conversatio, to associate with] 1. A verbal exchange between two or more people that is pointless, one-sided, or without logic. 2. The opposite of productive discourse. USAGE: While many nonversations transpire at locales like elevators and bus stops and are of the awkward, looks-like-it’s-going-to-rain variety, they also occur during business meetings, in which participants do not listen to one another and thus no conclusions are drawn.
Sounds a lot like The Vortex.

Re: Nonversation
It sounds exactly like the Vortex - although some of the stuff there is quite humorous at times.
Kids have nonversations. I remember desperately wanting to have a meaningful conversation with my peers at school the way adults do instead of flitting from one non substance topic to another every few seconds. Little did I realise it's not that common in the adult world either.
Still you become acclimatised to nonversations after a while and when you do stumble across a deep, meaningful conversation you know you've heard it all before. Much of the time the conclusion of a conversation is just as meaningless as a nonversation.

Re: Nonversation
I work with a handful of people that will have a nonversation at the drop of a hat. It's hard not to get caught up in that but I persevere.

OzPol sends his love. He'd tell you himself but he's afraid he'd fumble his words.

He used to chat to himself on Yahoo too. Groggy got caught out a few times by confusing his multi id screens.

Groggy is putting all his efforts into laughable.
Exact same insults, exact same mannerisms, syntax and wording.
Pretty sure laughable is another groggy sock.
