That sinking feeling...

Someone is going to be lynched over this cruise ship sinking in Italy... looks like the captain, who "slipped and fell" into one of the first lifeboats :thumb

With the thousand guests, plus crew, on board, it was lucky it was so close to shore, and a port town. Could have been far far worse.

Captains don't desert sinking ships so he probably does deserve a lynching. He may have been drinking or taking drugs as he has admitted to steering the boat off course for a couple of trivial reasons, but won't accept the blame. Apparently the sandbank shouldn't have been there.

There could be no other reason aside from intoxication for his hasty escape leaving passengers to drown. Once on shore he jumped in a taxi and fled.

Another valuable contribution by Aussie.

Mantra,

The issues of intoxiaction (drink or drugs) was on the radio here in the UK this morning so I can provide the evidence that this is in discussion now.

They took a urine test yesterday... a bit late I think so they are looking for something.

His bahaviour needs explaination, a bretty lady is now in the frame as well. He had something to hide... he knows he has done something wrong, I speculate (no evidence required)

I look forward to seeing evidence, for example, that he took a taxi and fled.

You are so annoying.
Cruise Bruise has learned the Captain of the ill-fated Costa Concordia cruise ship jumped into a lifeboard, went ashore and hired taxi on the tiny island ... the taxi driver took him home, made him a cup of coffee, offering refuge.
If you google it - there are about 5,000 links. I wonder how much he paid the taxi driver to hide him.

A coward aided and abetted by a taxi driver..nothing unusual

The taxi driver probably just finished raping some poor unsuspecting passenger...it's what they do

Did you hear his conversation with the coast guard. Amazing stuff. Swearing at him, because he wouldn't get back on the ship and coordinate the evacuation. He was either woefully unqualified for the job, or on drugs... or even metaly ill, perhaps? We'll see.

Even more amazing was his excuse that he "tripped" and fell into the lifeboat that just coincidently contained his 2IC and 3IC as well.

This guy would give the dutch and french a run for their money in cowardice

Aahhhhh. So it is on the interwebby, so it must be true, mantra.

Before I convict and hang him as you want mantra, I'll wait to hear all the evidence.
