The bottom line here is don't break into other people's houses and steal their property, their dreams, and you have nothing to worry about.

Why do they bother with Cops in the State of Texas. Just let the people look after themselves and the Courts can vindicate or otherwise.

Unless you happen to be walking past, or you forget your key next time you visit grandma and have to climb in the window, or your fraternity puts you up to some kind of prank....
dreams? Haven't you thrown that into other comments randomly?

That is not a strawman IQ. Perhaps you should read that link. A strawman is where you misrepresent your opponent's argument.

So you don't think that equating two guys who are stealing from a neighbour and then enter the property of someone who confronts them with 'walking past', 'visiting grandma' or' fraternity pranks' is misrepresenting the argument?

It's where such laws lead. Sooner or later someone who has a legitimate reason for breaking into a neighbours property will get shot, or some innocent bystander will get caught in the crossfire... and all for a couple of grand worth of dream.

If an innocent is caught in the crossfire then the full weight of the law would be applied to the offending party...
Of course the PC version seems to be working well so far- lets take it a step further to risk manage it better and make sure that current law breakers will be immune to prosecution as well be financially cared for ...why don't we just hand all material possessions over to one big socialist pool and it can be a free for all without the need for hard work or the risk of being shot and the govt can distribute it as they see fit.
That way there will be no need to break into peoples property or work hard. Of course there will end up being no pool of material possessions but that is besides the point

Ah, there's where the strawman comes in. No one is saying that theft should be legal, or encouraged, or anything about socialism... only that the penalty for theft should not be death, especially when meted out by some amateur vigilante who has been told repeatedly to let the police (who were on the scene) deal with it.
