Cricket

The third Test has been marred by a pitch invasion before day 1.

1) why

2) and what were the Indians doing already set up to take videos of the ground overnight.

"UPDATE: AN early morning pitch inspection has been ordered after video emerged of a drinking party on the WACA ground last night.

Indian officials were shocked when shown the footage of WACA staff on the pitch last night, the day before the third Test.

WACA officials will now lead an inspection at 9am local time (noon AEDT).

The group of around 10 people were employees of the ground who traditionally have a party under the scoreboard the night before the Test. It has been reported curator Cameron Sutherland was among the party.

They advanced onto the ground and proceded to take the covers off the wicket.

Some sat on the pitch and drank beer for about seven minutes before the covers were replaced.

The incident was filmed by several Indian television stations who were at the WACA completing their Test previews.

The footage was shown to Indian captain MS Dhoni and Indian team management.

WACA officials were last night forced to investigate the issue, which involves their own employees.

Senior BCCI official Rajiv Shukla said Cricket Australia must look into the incident.

"It is a serious matter and the Australian cricket board should look into it. It is the responsibility of the host cricket board to maintain the wicket," Shukla said.

Asked if they had talked to Cricket Australia about it, he said: "It's up to the team management to look into it."

Although the groundstaff were bare-footed, having the pitch uncovered hours before play is in violation of ICC guidelines.

And the official website of the West Australian Cricket Association (WACA) lists alcohol as a prohibited item inside the stadium."

Fair play is so over-rated anyway , so lets just let Gillard direct-elect who she thinks should win the game.

Dave Warner's 69er

Amazing blast from Warner effectively squashing any chance of India winning the thrid test.
And don't overlook Cowan's performance either even though not as blistering as Warner's still quite fast and effective.

Wonder if/when India will spit the dummy on this tour so they win a match. :b :b :b

You read this from a couple of weeks back re -Dhonidarko being kept waiting outside Kirribilly lodge in a minibus?

If not.....
Sydney, Jan. 3 -- Four years ago the New Year's Test in Sydney was one the most controversial ever in the game. This time, even before the action started, it emerged that India's cricketers were made to wait outside Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard's Sydney residence, Kirribilli House, prior to an official pre-match function on Sunday. The team bus arrived 15 minutes before the function's original 2pm start, which was further pushed back to 2.10pm. The PM's staff was not ready to receive the players and made them wait outside in the searing heat. After several minutes spent waiting, the players went back to the bus, parked outside the gate, before they were ultimately allowed through. HT Media Limited

You see, Tim Mathieson has had a bad back for the past few weeks, hurt it while removing a 12 cup muffin tray from the oven, so required a taxi-bus to transport him to and from physiotherapy and beautician appointments, so naturally, when they heard the mini-bus pull up out the front, only glancing briefly at their CCTV screen before flicking it back to Bold and the Beautiful, (Tims Favourite) both Mz and Mr Gillard assumed it was just Tims taxi-bus who's Indian driver had forgotten it was his RDO.

You see, it wasnt until they heard violent clicking sounds coming from the bus (retroflex--that clicking sound they make when expressing disgust) and smelled the aroma of tandoori 'Cavoodle' (the exotic designer dog she got for her 50th birthday) did they realise it probably wasn't the Taxi-bus after-all , rather assumed it was a pack of refugees who'd broken out of Villawood DC, hijacked a Taxi-bus, and robbed a Rebel sportsware store on the way over to the lodge wielding cricket bats.

It was a simple mistake anyone could have made.

Reckon Bobby would have tried some Greek approach on Australia's First Bozo.
Look at the sofa pillows in Kirribilli House, they all have teeth marks in them. :thumb

:rofl :rofl :rofl omg...

How does that joke go again...

How do you know when the Gillards have squatted in your home?
:rofl

Theres bite marks on your lounge cushions, hickies on your capoodles neck, (no RSPCA mongrel muts for this classy pair) a disheveld barking semi-naked Tim-slave choker- chained to the kitchen sink on all fours, and theres a pile of burnt bras in the oven.

Because thats what the ovens for, right Gillard?

Cricket bores me to sleep, and crickets are related to cockroaches.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?
