Senator Brown, who earlier in the week suspended his regular meetings with the Prime Minister over the issue, yesterday accused her of a "breach of honour" in reneging on a deal to protect 430,000ha of forests.
Instead, a federal conservation agreement announced yesterday provides interim protection for 428,050ha - that is, 1950ha less than promised by the state and federal governments in their historic forest deal last year.
