After a year of ferocious debate, the New South Wales Greens decided on December 4 to retreat from supporting the global pro-Palestine Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign.

Their grass-roots greens who once supported Palestinians would be feeling quite gutted I assume, now their party direction is more red than green these days.

It's not PC to side with the Palestinians as the Green left have found out. The hate campaign got to them obviously. You can only go so far when you're dealing with Israel. If you overstep the boundaries - they bring out their ammunition, which is their influence on the governments of most western nations.

PC or not Mantra, the Grass-roots greens (not the reds) were once the little party that kept the two leading partys honest.

It seems to me the reds have infiltrated the old Green party which are more focused on internationalism and are pandering to the UN, multi-nationalists, foreign investors, and big corps.

What colour do you get when you mix green with red?

It's a shame, and I think they will lose many grass-roots supporters (Those at least age 30 plus who remember how they used to be), or pretended to be, because of it.

I'd like to see the grass-roots greens make a stand, but as you say, that wouldn't be overly PC would it, so I guess ethics and core party values will need to be placed on the back burner for now.

The International community has spoken, and we all know Bob Brown owes the internationalist 'red' Jewry for their generosity (1990 Goldman Prize) which placed him on the international Global Green stage. Before this, he was just Bob Brown leader of the Australian Greens.

Essentially, they were cultivating him, and now it's pay-back.
Scratch an Australian Green and a whole bunch of Soviet Red comes gushing out if ageing Greens political party boss Bob Brown’s antics are any guide.

Turning their backs on Palestine and their party's former core political values is party suicide, PC or not Mantra.

Once the reds crawl back under their beds, the greens will be left high and dry and will have to start over.

Bob will leave them with such a mess, it may not even be possible to be that once deemed "honest little party" keeping the leading party's honest, given their GALP reputation.
