Hinch, not just a hairy face

Post by mellie » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:19 am

Before deciding whether or not you think he's a hypocrite, have a little read of this.

He named and shamed "convicted" "Notorious" paedophiles, those already serving not nearly long enough sentences who had been released, and were due for release shortly.

And the problem is?

And that's not all .....

Some people are of the view Hinch simply named and shamed a few blokes on a court list (shot his mouth off before the courts had reached their verdict) ...this or think due to his own sexual history, his cause is unworthy of consideration.

Before deciding, read the following, and respect the cause, if not the man behind the cause itself, because who knows, you or a loved one might benefit from such a cause yourself one day.. because Thats Life! :roll

And a little something for our Melbourne media historians... ;)

Again, if not the man behind the cause, the cause itself is worthy of your consideration at least.

Bolt and others cynically focus on the man behind the cause,(for various reasons) not the cause itself, because it's safer prattling on about what we already know and what's already been said,(even if we know we aren't supposed to say it) ie, Global Warming, reverse racism, censorship, etc

I like Bolt, I really do.. ... but he's a bit of an up-start and needs to explore both sides of the story before condemning those who have been there, and achieved so much. Both professionally and personally.

Jealously is a curse, and whilst I have a lot of time for Bolt, i'd like to see him do a little more than state the obvious occasionally... because anyone can do that!

Even me.

I just did.

8-) Night.

It is interesting that last month the Herald Sun went to court and successfully had the names of two serial sex offenders taken off the suppression list. One was the notorious Brian Keith Jones, one of Australia’s worst paedophiles. He earned the nickname Mr. Baldy because he would abduct young boys and shave their heads before dressing them in girls’ clothes and painting their faces.

Jones remains under an Extended Supervision Order but his name is no longer hidden from the community.

The other was an evil man named Robin Fletcher. A self-styled sex witch who spent ten years in jail for sex crimes against two 15-year-old girls. He was also on an Extended Supervision Order.

The Herald Sun went to court and successfully fought Fletcher’s suppression order and Justice Philip Cummins declared the public had a right to know.

That’s the crux of my whole Name Them and Shame Them campaign.
It’s why I was in the Supreme Court today.
Taken from..

Now ask yourself, who does Bolt write for?

Now who's the hypocrite again?

Same cause different spots.

Each to his own.

No white balloons for the city of Wangaratta

Crikey gumshoe Eleri Harris writes:

Early this month, 29-year-old musician Jennifer Brooke Pietsch was arrested on the main street of Wangaratta in Victoria for handing out white balloons and copies of Derryn Hinch’s latest blog post. She was charged with contempt of court and 10 days later entered a guilty plea and on Friday was fined $2000 without conviction.

So since when did giving out white balloons become illegal?

For the past two weeks, Wangaratta has been subject to a suppression order after Judge Michael McInerney banned the presence of Braveheart’s annual White Balloon Day from the city for fear it would prejudice a ongoing trial.

County Court Judge McInerney felt the distribution of material, designed to raise awareness of child abuse, could prejudice the jury of a child-abuse trial taking place in Wangaratta.
Look past the man and see the cause if you hate his beard so much.

I thought Hinch was great. Looks like nothing has chabnged in 10 years.

The man has his convictions and tries to do right and expose the risks to the community. The problem is the rights of the criminal are no longer there to protect us but protect them. When he gets it totally right we are behind him.

He makes a mistake we forget all the good he has done.

We need to view him and what he has done as a whole and not just the things he could have got more right.

Keep going Hinch. Someone has to. For our collective benefit.

He doesn't make the news much these days apart from his recent liver transplant. I've never been a fan of his but admittedly tries to get the controversial stories out there in the public interest.

It's his brash manner that makes him offensive and he was worse when he was drinking. He lacks diplomacy and the combination of his obnoxious personality and his forthright attacks - creates trouble that he could easily avoid.

I agree with you both, and know he's not without fault also... I just admire his determination and passion, like nova says, someone has to.

Bolt would do better learning from Hinchs mistakes this opposed to making the same mistakes himself,(oops, too late)...he's aready started.

Bolts great, but he reminds me of an overly rambunctious Labradoodle puppy at times, ... playfully snapping at the heels of Hinch, but then things get serious.

On the political front, I agree more with Bolts politics than I do Hinch's.

Noones perfect, but if you are going to call someone a hypocrite, just be really sure you aren't guilty of being one yourself, because at the end of the day, long after the man passes, it's the cause that lives on and stays with people.

If Andrew Bolt died tomorrow, would there be the same enthusiastic loyal crowds of supporters willing to carry-on his torch?

He could at least wait until Hinch is dead before he steals his grave.

And Mantra I agree, Hinch could be obnoxious and a real bastard at times.
And he'll tell you this himself.

But at least he didn't get to where he has by being a sycophant.

He took the hard road, but he got there, even if he blows his own horn 'often' and seemingly enjoyed his bumpy ride.

;) -- It's his cause that's resonates with me, and the fact that he's still so defiant and driven, when most feel squeamish at the sight of their first court judge and their own blood.. aka Andrew Bolt.

Still, Bolts just getting his feet wet, this and has time on his side at least.

Some other worthwhile causes...

http://buaca.wetpaint.com/

:) .... I admire these guys, but am terrified of bikes. My father tried to teach me to lean with his bike as he leaned around corners when I was kid... lol... wasn't going to happen.. I just couldn't relax on the back of his bike... mountain-bikes are more my thing.

What these guys are doing is fantastic, what a great cause.

Why not ride for a good cause?

I cant think of a better one than this.

Recall their 2009 ride for Daniel?

When any person intereferes with court & judiciary then they are ightly made to account for that.
Our courts are based on a system of innocence until proven guilty. So when an allegation has been made then that is all it is, an allegation.
Hinch wants to convict people based purely on allegations, no court trial no justice.
So when Hinch grumbles about the treatment he gets from the courts he fails to understand that he has had his "day in court" and he had a fair hearing. Yet he fails to learn.
Would Hinch prefer to have the allegations made about him as sufficient proof and then for him to be convicted based upon those allegations. I think not. Hinch would be the first person to complain about unfair treatment - when it involves him.
Yet Hinch wishes to do that to others who have only been alleged to have committed actions.
Wow, a case of hypocrisy for sure.
Allegations are not proof. A criminal charge is only an allegation that is to be determined in court. Not on Hinch's soapbox and not from his unsubtantiated opinion based upon what only he regards as facts and what only he regards as acceptable information.
No cross examination necessary when running the Hinch Kangaroo court at all.Just try people on rumour, conjecture, innuendo and gossip. But only provided if it is something that Hinch can jump on to boost his own ratings. And that is what he drives for - ratings. Else why isn't Hinch exhaustive in his hypocritical approach. Why doesn't he apply his Kangaroo court to everyone, including himself for his own sexual behaviour with a minor, why hasn't he done the right thing and abided by society's judicial system. Why is it acceptable for Hinch to be his own self-imposed vigilante yet he condems others who take the law into their own hands.
Hinch has repeatedly tried to pervert the course of justice, and there is no bigger pervert than Hinch. But that is only when it is involving other people who are innocent at the time. Hinch would hate it if his court cases were interferred with, or someone tried to persuade or inform the jury with information that he didn't approve of. :buddy

And there is a reason he hides behind that hairy face......no one wants to give him a brazillian!!! :thumb
