World Crisis - your prediction
I am getting more concened by the day with the problem the western world is having with it's finance systems.
The austerity programme in the UK looks to go on the another 7 years.
Bloody labor in the UK really has stuffed things up. Over spent in the good times, leaving nothing for the bad.
Europe has a week to sort the euro.
US dollars are being provided to banks on a special push.
Us is in deep shit.
Where will this go from here. What is your prediction?

You know that belt tightening will only affect the middle to lower classes. Without tax increases for the wealthy, then the burden is being borne by those who profited least from the golden times. Class warfare will return.

Here in the States policies were put into place in the early 70's that lowered the percentage of income spent on food. It was done because when people go hungry for 3 days they riot. Well, there is little chance of people going hungry here anymore but I wonder what else could set off riots here. No jobs, perhaps. Politicians must be nervous.

The Labor government here has overspent in austere times unnecessarily and is incurring an ever increasing debt. They've also sold us out to the mining conglomerations while the banks are investing heavily in the mining industry with our cash. This "boom" is apparently keeping us afloat but there are dire predictions it's only going to be short term. The banks have been warned, but won't listen and are vulnerable to losing tens of billions of dollars. The government is supposed to have guaranteed the bank deposits, yet if the banks do suffer heavy financial losses - more money will have to be borrowed to prop them up. Where will this come from?Super Nova wrote:I am getting more concened by the day with the problem the western world is having with it's finance systems.

Meanwhile our food bowls are being compromised by coal and gas exploration - so when the boom is over, we'll be left with a devastated food export industry and a massive debt.
We're also supposed to bail out other nations generously. Gillard is playing global philanthropist without giving any consideration to the country she represents. Abbott would do the same, if not worse. Australia is a lackey of the UN.

There was a huge hoo haa way back about what the US hands out to their farmers. You'd have to google to get the gist of it. Mantra might recall what I am talking about and can no doubt explain it better than I could. AiA will undoubtedly reply when he gets time. Meanwhile, if you are really curious, try google. What agricultural policies did they change and how did they change them?

Meanwhile, the GALP are giving away OUR money to "help" Greece, Pakistan and various others .... all borrowed money, natch since the GALP has spent us, too, into huge debt. Gillard and Co should be made to donate some of the recent rise that they gave themselves ... Gillard gets $70K a year increase a LOT more than some "working families" have to live on .... Gillard now earns more than Obama, apparently!Super Nova wrote:I am getting more concened by the day with the problem the western world is having with it's finance systems.

Australia is following all the other countries that are going broke ..... Lefty Governments cannot control themselves and their spending. Anyone with half a brain knows you have to save for a rainy day. Socialist Governments want to spend OUR money to make them look "generous" but those pollies aren't spending any of their money ... the are very comfortable, thank you, with their noses firmly in the trough! It doesn't end there either.... these useless people retire on more than any normal person could imagine .... all MPs get this benefit. If you have the gift of the gab and think selling used cars (or AVON) isn't your style, go for being an MP. You will be set for life. Honestly, no wonder everyone hates and loathes pollies.
