I Was An Abortion Survivor
Who are these people being interviewed to fall for such a illogical analogy and then on a dim change their minds. Lets say I'm against fishing off a pier and approach every family thats out there fishing and try and use the same logic. Excuse me sir, do you like to fish? Why yes I bring my son out here every weekend and I teach him how to fish. Well sir, do you know that when you reel in a fish its the same as if you had hooked your son by his lips and your reeling him in, dragging him out of the water?.......A perfectly normal and natural Instant reaction would be a roundhouse slap to the side of the head followed by "SNAP OUT OF IT"!

Weird, but then a lot about the citizens of the US is weird. Most of us are sick of hearing about the Holocaust. You would think it was the only mass slaughter of humanity ever performed in the history of the world. In some ways it's probably better that the American youth are so ignorant because eventually it will just fall into the back pages of history.
Still with the Jews owning most of the global media and also being responsible for producing so many of the teen flicks - it's amazing that these kids haven't picked up on it yet.

Godwinned, before it began
Sorry, I can't DL the lot of that... it took ages just to get to the part where abortion was even brought up. Anyone want to fill me in on what came after?
Morality is always a slippery slope, on the margins.

Boxy,
I viewed the whole 1/2.
The funny thing is while in the US last month I had a guy on the street try the same questioning technicque with me.
He started by asking "I have a million dollar questuion for you". The guys I was with just ignored it and I said... "come on... tell me".
The questions was "Were do you go when you die?".
I responded, "are you refering to my body or my soul?"
He tried to same trap of the commandments just as this video. I really gave him a good run around, he got totally frustrated and I thought I won the debate. Poor bastard. It was a good fun for 15 mins.
The holocost stuff is just a set of positioning questions to get them to agree that aborsion is bad. Not very clever but worked on the punter in the video. i wish they videod my interview and played that... that would have stuffed them.
The surpising thing in this video was how many people have not heard of Adolf Hitler..... amazing.
I do think people should remember history lest we run the risk of repeating history.

Last thing this world needs is more unwanted children. Two prominent economists have "proven" that the drop in the crime rates in large American cities that politicians took credit for actually came about when the generation of unborn and unwanted children weren't there to commit crimes.

I really hate the way the makers of the docu used the Holocoust as propoganda to persuade unknowing people on the street against abortion. That's unforgivable and disgusting.
There was one woman in the video who mentioned (in a questioning way) the need for intervention in case of severe birth defects and health of the mother and medical reasons.
She was the only one who seemed aware of the possibility of these things, and in the end even she changed her mind and decided she was against abortion no matter what.
This is just one more reason I've basically given up on modern human society and the mindset of the public. I should think people would be more educated than this. I should think that all of them would have heard of Adolf Hitler and would know the despicable things he did.
This speaks of a pathetic lack of education and overall apathy of the public, and makes me feel sort of sick in my stomach. What have we become as a species and a civilization, that so many are so easily brainwashed by fanatics with their own agenda and causes?

I wonder if this is just a US problem. I'm not sure I have seen such easily influenced people anywhere else in the world. This speaks of a pathetic lack of education and overall apathy of the public, and makes me feel sort of sick in my stomach. I think you're right about it being a US problem, Nova. I don't see this happening in other countries. I'm disgusted, that's what. People are so ignorant, and it seems they aren't interested in any real facts about things. They allow themselves to be misled even by strangers, without knowing the facts. They react emotionally instead of researching a few simple facts.Super Nova wrote:I wonder if this is just a US problem. I'd say it is a generational problem. I am sure that if you asked teenagers on the streets of London, Sydney or Melbourne whether they had heard of Hitler most may have, vaguely (it is shoved on their faces so often that they tune OUT) but care less about it or what it meant. Ask them who Frank Sinatra or Bob Hope was and they couldn't tell you ... anyone under 50 wouldn't know. Liz Taylor, ditto.annielaurie wrote:I think you're right about it being a US problem, Nova. Kids here are taught about WWII and the Holocaust Neferti. It's part of their curriculum. Unfortunately it's generally understood that American children have a very low standard of education compared to other developed countries. This doesn't apply to the wealthy of course.Neferti~ wrote:

In 2008, nearly 43.6 million people Americans lived in poverty (about 13.2% of the population); 12.9 million were under the age of 18.
In the US, poverty is still tied to race: 24.7% of the African American population live below the poverty line while 8.6% of Caucasians do.
School budgets are tied to property taxes. This is why schools in poor neighborhoods get about half as much money per student than schools in affluent neighborhoods.
Three-quarters of the nation's schools (almost 60,000) report needing repairs, renovations or modernization in order to reach good condition.
Not surprisingly, most schools in bad condition are in cities where at least 70% of students are below the poverty line.
Urban students are less likely to graduate than their suburban counterparts. High school graduation rates are 15% lower in the nation’s urban schools when compared with those located in the suburbs.
Graduation rates are also lower among certain groups, particularly ethnic minorities and males. In 2008, the graduation rate among African-Americans was 61.5% compared to 81% for whites.
In 2008, 17 of the nation's 50 largest cities had high school graduation rates lower than 50%, with the lowest rates reported in Detroit (24.9%), Indianapolis (30.5%) and Cleveland (34.1%).
Children of poor families are up to six times more likely to drop out than wealthy children.
