For Lisa & FD
I had a PM in my inbox, had planned to ignore it and not put it up ...though when going in there today, I noticed it was gone, has someone deleted it?

Was this the real Lisa, or someone using his/her handle mucking around?
Fortunately I screen saved it for safe keeping.
I am a little confused... I always assumed Lisa was Male, this and was responsible for moderating ozpolitic and this site.

Re: For Lisa & FD
Would either FD or Lisa care to explain?
Because my understanding was that FD and Lisa were mates.

Hi Mellie, that screen shot looks like a pm from the real Lisa. She would send me pms from time to time, saying that sort of thing.
She was never responsible for moderating this site. She was not a mate of FD, to my knowledge.
Some people remember her from Yahoo forums and other sites. I didn't know her before she signed up here. She was also signed up over on Monk's site, where I am assistant admin.
I'm the one who approved her acct there and gave her member permissions a few months ago. The other day she asked that her account be deleted from Monk's site, and he complied with that and deleted her.
She asked to be banned from this PA several days ago, and either FD or AIA honored her request.
To my knowledge she is a female.

It's easy to be confused about her gender. I've wondered the same thing myself.mellie wrote: I am a little confused... I always assumed Lisa was Male, this and was responsible for moderating ozpolitic and this site.

She/he whatever, I really couldn't care less, I just wanted to make sure security hadn't been breached because the PM has been deleted from my inbox, meaning someone has either accessed my account for reasons only known to them, or this sites admin reserves the right to read and delete users private messages at their discretion. Fair enough, someone could be PM'ing malicious code, or forwarding illegal files and so forth, so I respect the fact that in some cases, accounts need to be monitored, and content removed immediately, though they should alert users of their intention to delete PM's and give reason, (is the polite thing to do)... if not before ..after, because right now I'm left wondering whether or not someone other than myself or this sites authorised admin has gained unauthorised access to my account.
I wont be using PM until I receive word from admin.... not that I PM much anyway, very rarely.
Is there a way of disabling PM all together?

Well what do you know...it's back!!
Back in my in-box.
That or I didn't see it there when I looked earlier... i'm tired, so it's possible I over looked it I guess.
No harm done.

Haha. I've done the same thing too Mel. When you're tired it's easy to overlook something.mellie wrote:Well what do you know...it's back!!

I always advise people not to use forum PMs for anything personal. This is a good rule to have 'accross the board'. Use email instead. Use PMs for forum members you do not trust with your email (ie everyone).

Re: For Lisa & FD
I found it strange that she PM'ed me , I didn't reply, just ignored it...(She wrote it over a month ago)...but then when I went back into the account today to see if it was the same handle as the one who is posting here as Lisa, who had asked to have her account deleted, I wanted to check to see if it was the same Lisa who had sent the letter because they seem like two very different people at times.freediver wrote:I always advise people not to use forum PMs for anything personal.
